ICE is now changing tactics and arresting people who have been granted asylum hearings.   This is both a violation of US & international law that demands immediate attention from all New York elected officials & underscores the urgent need for legal service providers to be at all of these cases.

I hate when they take away things you were just starting to really enjoy, like your favorite TV show or democracy.

It feels like Justice Jackson is one more bad ruling away from spilling all the tea 💅🏼 if I was her I wld be apoplectic. Bust ur butt 100x harder than Justice Mayo and his klan only to watch them burn it all down. I wld be scorched earthing SKKKOTUS after this BS

The guy who got fired wasn’t the problem.

I can't tell if it's because I'm too NYC focused but does it feel like the news cycle spent more time crashing out on the fact that NYC picked a brown Muslim dude as is primary candidate then it did on a right wing extremist who shot 2 Minnesota legislators killing one, her husband and dog?

Not only are ICE bounty hunters, who look more like criminals than law enforcement, abducting people from workplaces & off the street—we’re now seeing they’re being held in private detention centers w/some of the most deplorable conditions imaginable. REPEAT: people are profiting from this cruelty.

GOP 2021: “The debt is out of control! GOP 2022: “the debt is out of control!” GOP 2023: “the debt is out of control GOP 2024: “the debt is out of control!” GOP 2025: ”let’s raise the debt ceiling $5 trillion!”

This sentence, typed in her dissent, should scare the living fuck out of everyone in this country. "This Supreme Court is an existential threat to the rule of law." – Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson

Spot on. This is the clearest explanation I’ve seen. It ‘s relatable, and humanizes the issue in a way everyone can understand.

We are living in precarious times.

1/ If Justice Barrett thinks we need to go back to what the Founding Fathers intended, I’ve got news for her. Their biggest concern was avoiding tyranny. So they created 3 branches of gov’t & divvied up the power the people (that’s us) were allowing the gov’t to use to create order for all of us.

Town officials in Burlington have issued a formal demand to inspect a local Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office being used as a detention center amid allegations that conditions at the facility are unsafe.

this court says that allowing EPA to regulate carbon emissions is a "major question" that demands congressional debate. but allowing the president to, with a flick of the wrist, end a straightforward constitutional right is something that must be allowed to stand?

Of course he did. thehill.com/homenews/sen...

Zohran Mamdani is saying things like “poverty is a policy choice and politicians have a duty to their constituents to make their lives affordable” and it is making a lot of politicians very very scared that they may actually have to start doing some actual service in their public service jobs.

Brilliant. 10/10. No notes.

Hardened criminal 6 yr old, I am sure 🙄😒🤦🏻‍♀️

💀💀💀💀💀💀💀

Democratic Reps Tom Suozzi (NY-03) and Laura Gillen (NY-04) have both released statements criticizing Zohran Mamdani after his decisive win. Suozzi and Gillen represent the two wealthiest districts in New York, both of which are among the richest in the nation. Wealth fears change—but it’s coming.

Amid allegations of inhumane and unsanitary conditions in ICE facilities, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is taking further steps to continue skirting congressional oversight. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

Do they really think they can scare us with the word “socialist” when they are literally sending out men in masks with no warrants and no badges to disappear people off American streets? I know what I’m scared of, and it’s not a socialist.

The best way to reduce the cost of Medicaid is to name and shame big employers that pay their full time employees so little, they qualify for Medicaid

The White House says it’s now limiting how much classified intelligence it shares with Congress, following criticism from lawmakers over the Iran bombing.

You don't "not recall" telling DOJ lawyers to say "fuck you" to court orders. You either remember saying it, or you remember that you definitely didn't say it. Emil Bove saying he doesn't recall means he definitely said it, and there's a roomful of people that can testify to it.

In its assault on Planned Parenthood today, the Supreme Court gutted a provision of the Civil Rights Act of 1871 providing enforcement of federal rights. KBJ's dissent directly ties today's majority to the white supremacists who attacked civil rights during Reconstruction. slate.com/news-and-pol...

Today's Planned Parenthood decision was a devasting blow to women, and it wasn't even about abortion. It was a devasting blow to civil rights, and it wasn't even about Civil Rights. It's one of the worst decisions from this SCOTUS, worse than you probably think. www.thenation.com/article/soci...

WTF?!

Watch this. Because this is the way: Local officials using their platform right, reaching out to the community. Ambrocio “Enrique” Lozano, affectionately known as “the popsicle man,” was reportedly abducted in broad daylight in Culver City. Masked man. White van. Cart left behind in the street.

I really really really encourage you to read (or listen to) the whistleblower letter about Bove's actions in the Alien Enemies Act Case, the Abrego case, and the South Sudan/Djibouti case. Andy McCabe and I have just released the audio version, for free, here: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/m...

People in wheelchairs are getting arrested right now in the Russell Senate Office Building in DC. They showed up to tell Congress not to cut their Medicaid, because they cant afford health care without it. If you look closely you can see the zip ties on their hands. #WeWontGetOverLosingMedicaid

If you’re zip-tying grandmas protesting losing health care maybe you’re not the good guys in the story?

Trump DOJ Ordered ICE to Invade Homes Without Search Warrant

My colleagues @dmehro.bsky.social and @dell.bsky.social obtained records of 911 calls from ICE detention centers and what they found was horrifying... www.wired.com/story/ice-de...

I am sure that the June 6 ICE raid on a Los Angeles Home Depot will deserve the historians’ spotlight. But in Las Vegas, we might make a notation on the historical timeline for Saturday, June 21. That is the day when Broadacres Marketplace closed. open.substack.com/pub/behindth...

FEMA funds are now going to fund concentration camps in the everglades instead of helping people after a natural disaster. Seems all the rightwing conspiracy theories about FEMA building camps was projection all along.

They’re planning on building a detention center for migrants in the middle of the fetid swamps of Florida. If you think this is something new, the first internment camp they sent me and my family to in 1942 was a barbed wire prison called Rohwer. It was located in the swamps of Arkansas.

My Mexican wife wants to go to Tucson to go shopping. I try to never deny her anything, but have you seen what’s going on in the US? There is no chance I am taking my Mexican family to the US. If they get taken by ICE, they can end up in an African detention camp. 🖕🏼🇺🇸

OMG: The government in the Abrego case is actually arguing that the crappy, triple hearsay evidence THEY brought shouldn't be considered. AND they say that if he's freed, and ICE detains him, the DoJ will suffer injury. THEN DON'T DETAIN HIM. lol storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Alaska is also on fire (223,803.7 acres as of 10pm June 23, 2025) & they're cutting $26mil in fire suppression funding while the Governor fails to call an emergency. There's 294 active fires & 16 are staffed/being suppressed. Evacuations are happening while many have nowhere to go. HELP ALASKA

A win! Thank you to everyone who spoke out! After facing bipartisan resistance, the Senate Parliamentarian, ruled that Sen. Mike Lee’s proposal to sell off millions of acres of federal land cannot be included under reconciliation rules.
