l believe Atlanta has enough information, investment dollars, and innovation to create real public safety for all communities in our city— what we need now, more than ever, is the political courage and will. Today, on Gun Violence Awareness Day, I proudly #wearorange to honor victims and survivors.

Solving inequality in Atlanta is not charity work— it’s essential for economic growth. Philanthropy plays a critical role. Grateful to partner and guest lecture #PhilanthropyLab at @emoryuniversity.bsky.social to help next gen leaders invest ~$500k in local orgs and reimagine philanthropy. #atlpol

Access to quality healthcare is a crisis in Atlanta. Grateful to keynote Young Health Leader Summit to speak with next generation of healthcare leaders about the way cities can lead on health policy. We need young people to believe in and trust government— and that only happens if we talk to them.

The future of public policy in Atlanta depends on how well we respect and understand our past.

Gun violence is a public health crisis in Atlanta. This requires more than thoughts and prayers: we need investment in community safety, public services, and real policy change. Thank you to the families, organizations, and advocates that invited me to this weekend’s peace walk in Peoplestown. ❤️✊🏽

My mom came to the US at 19. My parents worked at a mall cart. They sacrificed everything for their kids. Watching people talk down to them is why I learned to speak up. This #AANHPI month, I think of them. Their story is an Atlanta story. It shaped who I am and what I’m fighting for in my city.

I’m not running to recite the words of King—but to put his work into practice. In 1967, he called guaranteed income the most effective way to fight inequality. Atlanta has the highest income inequality gap in U.S. Time for bold policy change. ❤️ @nataliefoster.bsky.social and GROFund for leading.

Memorial Day is a deeply complicated and emotional day for many families. I’m thinking about the families who lost a loved one in service. I also grieve the lives we’ve unnecessarily lost when they came home— simply because they did not get the care they needed. Our policies must reflect our words.

Five years after George Floyd’s murder, Atlanta has paid nearly $10M in police violence settlements. Atlanta Citizens Review Board hasn’t investigated a single deadly force case. Accountability isn’t anti-police—it’s pro-community. As Council President, I’ll fight to fix this. Less talk, more policy

🫘🥬🥔🍅 I walked away so hungry after hearing all our seniors at Gateway Capitol View Senior Home are going to make with the fresh produce delivered by my friends at the BMI Fund. I felt so at home. Hey mom: check out this fresh soup I made with the leftover tomatoes 😍🍅

The City of Atlanta is proposing the largest budget in its history ($975M). They held only one public hearing. It was last night— at City Hall—at 6:15pm. It adjourned at 6:20pm. No presentations. One public comment. Public engagement is a process, not a checkbox. This won't happen next year.

The rulebook says your fundraiser should be hosted by politicians. Ours was at my childhood home, hosted by my parents. Campaigns should feel like this. Rooted in family. Grounded in purpose. We’re going to run a campaign we—and all of our parents—can be proud of. Join us!

Civil rights leader and former chairman of the Atlanta Student Movement, Charles A. Black, has been named Campaign Chair for Rohit Malhotra’s 2025 bid for Atlanta City Council President. #atlpol

The Atlanta Business Chronicle asked, “how do you wish to be remembered?” My response: as Atlanta’s 10th City Council President. I’m committed to making government a stronger advocate and ally for working class families, businesses, and neighborhoods in Atlanta.

Cathy Woolard knows a thing or two about city government–– she served as City Council President alongside Mayor Shirley Franklin. My phone did not stop buzzing last week when folks texted me that she called out our campaign as her “Win of the Week” on Georgia Gang!

I chose very intentionally to launch this campaign with Atlanta Labor — to keep the working class people who I’m doing this for at the center of my work and vision for this city. Atlanta — and its workers — are worth fighting for.

In our first week on the trail, our campaign made the front page of @axios.com! Kicking things off with Atlanta’s small business owners, neighborhood leaders, and working families. This is a people-powered run for a public policy seat. bit.ly/AxiosRohitFo...
