Retractions often obscure the deeper issue—namely, unethical or low-quality editorial practices—& we should preserve this record as well. Ultimately, the most effective solution is structural: journals must engage experienced researchers as reviewers and compensate them professionally for their work

That approach risks creating bibliographic confusion. A better solution is to ensure that any dubious articles are clearly and permanently linked to the critical responses or rebuttals that follow.

Such articles must remain publicly available,&any identified issues should be addressed through a subsequent critical publication. Ultimately, it’s important to maintain a transparent record of researchers found to have published falsified data, in order to uphold scientific accountability&integrity
comment in response to post
If certain publications are flawed, they should remain available, with subsequent critical responses or corrections published alongside them. This approach preserves the transparency of the scientific process and offers an honest reflection of a journal’s editorial standards over time.

The USA is boycotting military support for Ukraine, and the White House is looking for excuses from the Ukrainian president, even though efforts have been made to publicly humiliate him in front of the entire world! ⬇️
