The government has checks and balances to prevent any branch from gaining too much power. However, unscrupulous individuals have worked to undermine these safeguards, often with the electorate's consent. As a result, our government reflects the choices and complacency of the people.

As we approach the celebration of our nation's birthday, it's important to highlight a key idea. The Founding Fathers expressed this sentiment: "When a government becomes destructive of the people's rights, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it.”
What are you going to do about?

Instead of Americans celebrating on the Fourth of July, perhaps they should reflect on what the founders of this great nation were doing—fighting for their freedoms. Many Americans take the freedoms that our ancestors sacrificed for granted. This blatant carelessness is starting to have consequences

I urge everyone to read and grasp the significance of the Declaration of Independence, as it relates to our current moment. WE are a representative republic for as long as we are willing to fight for it.

“Oh I am attacking the shit out of MAGA.”
Yet, you're on a thread attacking democrats. Anyone emotionally attacking anything reconsider “dirty red” isn't helping.
You are literally doing exactly what they told their supporters you would do.

I agree! We are at an inflection point politically. On this app, I talk about chickens coming home to roost. That's where we are as a country. We planted the seeds for this. Either the wealthy will seize more control, or the other thing will happen. What's certain is that this is unsustainable.

For the sake of entertainment, let’s say you have Adams against Cuomo. You won't because Adams is running as a independent, so theyre going to split the democrats vote and nyc will get another Giuliani. But lets say Adams & Cuomo are the only options vs not voting. Picking 1 is still better than not

This is really just a pipe dream. A party doesn't define their candidates. Their voters do. Like any business, the party leaders lean into the candidate that's the polling shows has the best chance at winning. That’s good business.

Lol.. Chill out! I an adult who understands trump got 77 millions votes the last election and in order to defeat Maga you are going to need a coalition. History is littered with civilizations who had in purists viewpoints. Hopefully you fools wont doom us to the same faith.

“So here's an idea... If MAGA is destroying democracy, wouldn't it be the Dems number one job to fight that?”
Yet, here we are arguing about democrats and not Maga!
So right back at you!

Obama’s 2008 campaign slogan was “Yes, We Can!” but apparently a lot of voters thought it was “Yes, he can”. We elected you, now fix everything. Of course he couldn't and famously got a shellacking in the 2010 midterms.

Flooding the zone with EOs is just part of their strategy of keeping their base engaged. The courts are not designed to stop a lawless president. The EO gets a week of coverage & the court order stopping it gets 1 hour. As to me being obtuse…only 1 of us is attacking the opposition party?
comment in response to

What would a “new” party do exactly other than dilute the voting power of the opposition? I would honestly like to know because I dont see any value in doing that. I do see value in holding your elected leaders accountable regardless of their party affiliation because they all fear losing power.

Blaming the Dems, while Maga is shitting on democracy is so progressive! Nice!

But gerrymandering only affect house races. Two of the most populous states in this country have republican governors & senators.. Texas and Florida. If you turn those blue or just split them, you’ll have a whole different country. They fear losing power, that's why Brian Kemp never went full Maga.

Obstruct what exactly, trump has only sign 5 new laws everything else has been an EO.

Obama had a divided congress all but the first 2 years of his presidency. He assumed the presidency with the world facing the biggest financial crisis in modern history. He still passed the most consequential piece of legislation since FDR, so … try again!

I get it. The founders designed check and balances, however the people were the ones responsible for ensuring they stayed in balance. The people failed us. “The government you elect is the government you deserve.” Thomas Jefferson

I agree about the 2a, but I'm pretty sure there are about 2 -4 million Americans who feel the opposite way. Then what? Civil war? There is something much easier. Hold our elected representative accountable. If you live in a 100% blue state, then hold your friends and family who don't accountable.

First, almost everything trump has done has been an EO. He’s only signed 5 bills into law in 2025. The lowest in 70 years while signing 116 EOs.
And “if” Lincoln wasn’t assassinated may we would have a more perfect union. Or if…

I agree on that point, but consider this.. Maybe they’re sitting on their gun powder for the same reason Mitch McConnell didn't whip votes during trumps 2nd impeachment trial..The voters. Ask yourself, is it better to beat Susan collins with a democrat in Maine or chuck schumer with a democrat in NY

How many democrats voted for Kash? Or Drunk Pete?
The budget bill is a simple majority vote, so the Dems can't stop that either.
If every dem in congress gets arrested, then what? Americans will wake TF too?
77 millions of them voted for a convicted felon who showed them his ass his last term.

Trump is a political problem for America & once he became president, it neutered the judicial branch. Only congress & the electorate can hold presidents accountable. If the senate convicted a president for specific act, those act would no longer be official act muting presidential immunity argument.

I suspect some of the same people attacking the democrats at this moment were attacking VP Harris during the presidential election because of Gaza.

You're deflecting! I already have the answer, but I’m asking you because I’m curious about your perspective. I suspect you either know the answer and are trying to create division with the Dems, or you believe you're right simply because your favorite podcaster expressed that same opinion.

Lol.. Are you freaking serious? Answer the question! How exactly could the Democrats held a convicted felon accountable? What EO or Cabinet appointment they could have stopped?
comment in response to

Maybe, but your fellow Americans put trump back in office with majorities in the house and senate. The Republicans could have ended this in 2021, but I I'm guessing blaming Hakeem and Chuck helps you sleep night.

We have a generation that expects things to be given to them. They want to blame Garland, Jeffries and Schumer because it desolves them of any responsibility. The civil rights movement happen because the people were willing to get arrested, not the political leaders.

The Constitution doesn't define why a president would be able to use the natl guard and it says nothing about the powers of a governor.
JFK used National Guard over the objections of a governor in 1965, so this isn't novel concept. They're gaslighting y'all.

This wasnt a bad precedent. A president has this power. He has always had this power. The influencers were giving y'all false hope.
JSYK, trump’s Article 1 powers, MAGA control of congress and the SCOTUS ruling on immunity gives him almost unlimited authority. People chose poorly.
