I keep calling it Network Q but didn’t they sell used Vauxhalls?

If it wasn’t for the Gallagher/Felix deal, the give away of Hudson-Odoi would be the worst deal of the Clownlake era.

You mean he isn’t going back for Anthony?

Heaven forbid we should pay circa half of what we paid for the failure Joao Felix for an international goalkeeper with tons of experience and way way better than any of the thirty two other goalkeepers we have on our books

If the European Conference League is a major European trophy can you tell me what is a minor European trophy?

And yet whilst we happily drop £40m - £50m on bang average squad players who are defenders, midfielders or attackers we quibble about paying £25m for a GK who is one of the top 10 (20?) in the world and the GK for the French national team @goalie59.bsky.social

However, what I will never understand is why people seem to think that the market value of a top GK is so much lower than an equivalent top player in virutally any other position. Are GKs not important members of the team? Don't great GKs help you win matches and trophies?

I know people have different thoughts on Maignan but I would be ok with this - a proper, experienced, big club, international GK for a change. Maignan as #1 with Petrovic as back up and Penders on a loan to a Championship club. The others can be sold. #Chelsea

Massive shame that they didn’t do the same with Joao Felix who they had had on loan and knew exactly what he was capable of (and what he wasn’t)

Neto over Sancho for me Obviously I have reservations about both but Neto works harder and is faster & more direct. He should cut out the rolling over and over. Sancho isn’t quick and rarely takes anyone on. Apart from the admittedly good curler from the left what else does he do?

The only saving grace is I did get a free hotel for the night from the airline so got a bit of sleep. Had a shower and breakfast. If I can't find anyone driving to Krakow after the game. Then it looks like my best option will be head to Gdansk and get a flight back to London from there. I do have a

I'd love to hear what Jose Mourinho thinks about his fellow Portugeezer: could there ever be a less Jose player than Felix?
comment in response to post
People talk about assessing players on "their body of work". Well Felix club career is stellar: Benfica, Athletico, Chelsea (x2), Barcelona & AC Milan. As far as I know he's only ever achieved anything at Benfica. Who else has played for so many leading clubs & achieved next to nothing?

So sad. Such a loss first to us and then to the game. My mind keeps turning back to the start of the 6 Million Dollar Man: “Gentlemen we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world’s first bionic man”

Crazy isn’t it? It’s hopeless trying to pop-psychologise players but I wonder if it’s not him being difficult but more his failure to stick to the role he’s given & selfishness You know how managers allegedly praise Mason Mount for his intelligence & team spirit: this feels like the polar opposite

I can well believe it. So much talent, so little output. It is truly one of the mysteries of the universe.

I did understand you but getting rid of Felix may fall into the category of accepting more than a small book loss. Unless Michael Emanalo and his Saudi mates can do us a massive solid

By “eating more than £10m” for Felix do you mean that’s how much we might have to pay to get someone to take him permanently? This is not simply a poor attempt at a joke question because this is essentially how the Gallagher deal went down
