More advanced lessons would teach how to make actual lace designs like these. It's actually pretty easy to do the basics that we learned today once you get the hang of which pairs of bobbins go where and what the movements actually do.

We learned the basic weaving technique called cloth stitch, and then diagonal and open work stitches. It's the equivalent of learning your knit and purl stitches, foundational.

I've decided on my pen name and designed myself a temporary mock cover that I'm really proud of, but I'll share all that eventually. That part is still a little scary. Hell. All of this is scary. Doing it anyways.

My goal was to write a book. Not edit a book. Not publish a book. I've done what I set out to do. But now... My goal is to have the book professionally edited and published on Kindle Unlimited by December. If I can do it before Christmas week then I'll have done it all in less than a year.

Thank you! It's the recommended fabric and is even prettier in real life.

I did it! The final actual chapter is DONE, just before 10pm, leaving just the epilogue. I could be DONE done by tomorrow night or the next, depending on how evening commitments go.

Sharing is caring though. Fudge fingers aside.

HILARIOUS and also beautifully sung. Turn it up louder for the people in the back. 🥳

Well, actually... Last night there was absolutely killing. And GBH, and kidnapping. 🤔 Dark Romance offers no end of possibilities for bad stuff to offset the kissy bits.

Thank huh, it means a lot to me to even get this far.

Two more chapters, possibly an epilogue, and then the book, my FIRST book, will be done! Well, done except for all the steps after that But still, SO CLOSE. 🫠

Thank you, I lurve my keyboard and matching speaker so much. Cherry switches on a pretty aluminum frame make everything so much nicer when I type. It's my first book so I'll take any good luck I can get.

Is it creepy when you can write predator inner dialogue clinically convincingly because of said fixations (and having been on the receiving end thereof)? Maybe, but here we are, and I'll take that lemonade payoff any day. 🤷🏽‍♀️

(Allow me my moment, I'll be back to picking myself apart soon enough.)

Looking back I can say that I'm proud of myself for becoming an even better version of the change I wanted to see than I could have ever predicted. And I'm almost done writing a book, and took a writing class with an author I admire. Damn, girl. 🥳

Turns out, it wasn't TV or Facebook holding me back, it was access to the exact kind of books I wanted without having to wait weeks for a copy to show up, only to maybe be disappointed in it after all that.

Then, in 2018, I signed up for Kindle Unlimited and my world exploded in the very best ways. Between KU and FreeBooksy (where I actually own them), the amount of books I read each year went from less than 10 to HUNDREDS. My current daily reading streak without missing a day reading is 400.

Tell me you're married to a Latina without telling me you're married to a Latina. 🥳🇵🇷

😄 yes, indeed. But the cover isn't actually going to be racy. Take this kind of backlit ballerina image and then ornaments and type like this kind of cover, and that's the vibe I'm looking for.

I had dinner with a beta reader who's reading as I go for vibe check and hot takes, and it went AMAZING. More on that another day. But when someone at the bar started talking to me I introduced myself as a writer. WHAAAT... 🤯 I qualified it a moment later to explain, but still. #writing

No, your wife *screeched* WHAT?!?! from the living room and you proceeded to come out, glory in your inanity and grin like a doofus, ridiculously pleased with how outraged I was. TELL IT LIKE IT IS, HUSBAND. 🤨
