Most of them are really consistent visually. It's quite a difference to, say, Golems, which also appear in many JRPGs.

Ich erinnere mich noch an Final Fantasy 12, wo das Charakterdesign dir gar nicht gefallen hat. Da hattest du den Cast mal als "Bübchen" bezeichnet :D Aber im Ernst: Deine Reviews waren pointiert, kritisch und haben grad die japanischen Schnittmuster oft hinterfragt. Les ich heute noch gern! :D

The videogaming press back then immediately assumed that the PS1 would be a success. I wonder what made Sony stand out so much that the professionals knew that this was the right thing? Back then for me as a teenager, it was great, but just "one of many" new consoles out at that time.

Yeah I didn't really get why they changed the form factor. The DS4 was nice, and I think a Dualsense with PS4 DualShock looks would have been perfectly fine.

Ich habs vor drei Jahren mit 40 versucht, und selbst auf dem 3DS XL konnte ich es kaum mehr lesen. Hab dann lieber die schlechtere SNES-Fassung probiert, aber da ist wenigstens der Text größer 😅

Mir wirkte das Gesamtspiel eher wie ein okayes Fanwerk für Suikoden denn ein richiges Spiel. Story, Kämpfe, Gegenden, Landschaften... alles ein bisschen wie Suikoden aber die Zutaten sind alle nicht wirklich ausgereift.

I'm just a grumpy old man :D My biggest issue was the all-too squished sprites, but as you said it, many 16 bit RPGs had those. It was just a bad timing for Lufia and me, and I thought a bit of old-school harmless flame would be good on this day ^^

I think it's okayish. The general taste is good, but it has a weird bland aftertaste.
