It was amazing…although people did come in from neighboring smaller towns.

Amazing! It sounds like your kids had a great time!

Same thing on the right wing Facebook group here in NE Ohio. Convinced that somebody was paying us to protest and to bus in protesters from Cleveland?
comment in response to

Did you include the buses to import protesters from the cities to rural areas?

I respect Avery Brooks wanting to retire from acting, but I would selfishly love to see a sequel.

Like the 3 branches of government could put on a variety show and provide a nice meal for currently serving members and veterans?

Perhaps not everyone enjoys science fiction, but Captain Sisko in Star Trek Deep Space Nine is an all time excellent portrayal of fatherhood.

And I wonder if it should be bussed and busses.
comment in response to

I realized that in our rural area we would be recognized by police anyhow because most everyone knows each other.
And we would all be better off because the local right wingers were trying to convince themselves any protesters had been bused in. In spite of there being no buses.

None of the signs in the local protest near me said ‘policies’.
It was labeled by organizers as ‘No Kings’. Show some respect!
Policies are enacted within the law. These protests were against illegal actions.

We’re pretty busy with our cakehouse. There have been quite a few birthdays around here recently.

Certainly stop appealing to their worst instincts.
Tell them that their lives will be infinitely better if they don’t have to be angry and hateful…and struggle for everything.
comment in response to

Yeah. That whole conversation IS the problem. What’s the point of winning if you’re getting the exact same hateful policies?

Ruth here.
Please stop taking my name in vain.
There are very few of us, but we do exist. Never been to that steakhouse though. Now I think they should give me free food. Especially if I bring my Chris with me. All of us have one. Didn’t you know that?

To be honest, ‘I don’t trust either side’ seems like a way to step out of the right wing bubble.
If they stop voting for the bad guys then that’s a win in my book.

Nope.
We ARE the people. We own the flag (including the bad stuff done in its name)
WE are ready to keep the good parts…and USE the good parts to TAKE BACK our country, and the legitimate symbols, like the flag.

No. They can't have it. I refuse.

Arrest the owners and HR people who hire the undocumented if you really mean to stop illegal immigration.
That would mean a bunch of White men and women thrown in jail so that’s not happening.

Did anyone watch that parade?

‘In spite of’ would be better.
There unbelievably are those who don’t acknowledge that only one side is enacting violence.

Bainbridge Ohio had a protest and is not listed.

There were actually more people honking in support than the reverse.

Were you there too?

We had several in suburban/rural Geauga County Ohio.

The parade today by contrast moves west to east, outside to in. It starts at the Pentagon not Arlington National Cemetary. It follows the symbolic route of troops entering to quell or occupy the city, not leaving with love and thanks. 8/

I was an usher at the local Warner Theater and got to see the orchestra fundraiser with Itzhak Perlman. As an usher, I was able to go backstage afterwards...and found him chatting with my elderly violin teacher!

It’s been awhile..I think it was the under the truck one. Anyhow, it was so cool to see! I guess I saw it on TV or something.

Right! If you are a citizen, you absolutely need papers to prove it if you don’t fit their profile of what qualifies you as a citizen! Maybe us white folks should start using accents to keep them busy?

Did you ever see how they filmed the scene on the truck? Amazing what they used to accomplish before CGI!

Wow, what a difficult headline.
Violence? Has a protester actually hurt a member of law enforcement?

No taxation without representation. The lack of representation was the issue.

The caveat for this was supposed to be that we didn’t have a standing army…that didn’t last very long.

If you recall, they were defended in court by John Adams…because he believed in the rule of law.
He made some really bad decisions later, but we should remember that there were people who stood up for justice.
