Really great drumming! Do you have any experience composing with the sax or rock guitar (digitally or IRL)? I’m thinking most of the game’s soundtrack will be comprised of that.

It’s one of my favourite games ever, even ignoring the nostalgia I just think it’s fantastic (and mixing an immersive sim with a third person platformer is a genius idea).
I’d recommend playing the original instead of the remake if possible but they’re both good.

They started to become uncommon around 2016-2017 when hero shooters and battle royales got popular, I guess the industry just realized which types of shooters were more lucrative monetarily and latched onto those.

As the show progressed the amount of time I had to wait for Light’s plans to come to fruition got longer and longer, and therefore my excitement to see them get executed properly also got higher, but when the execution fails it just feels like a slight waste of time.

Still glad people are talking about immersive sims at all in 2025 though.

Yeah in all honesty the first season was much much better but I’m still enjoying myself watching the second season

The best part is you can shoot the chairs when they disobey you

Okay, maybe not that impeccable, but it's pretty fun.

What makes boomer shooters similar to eachother, and thusly what unites this hypothetical category of shooters beyond vibes?
I would like some sort of defined term, these have been my favourite type of games and I hope for a revival soon.

Yeah that’d be sick, that last point especially would be really useful for the grenades, that’s a great idea.

I like that, I was going to do something similar for weapon selecting on controller / gamepad but it could work for the alt fire too.

I could see that working, I might experiment with the toggle too just gonna have to playtest that to see if it actually is too slow

That sounds pretty cool I’ll have to check it out and see how they did that input wise

I was considering a toggle, it makes sense for guns like assault rifles that have an actual switch;
But for other guns like a Revolver where the alt fire would be fanning the hammer (similar to Overwatch) it feels a little stunted. Like that sort of action needs to be quicker than two inputs.

I could see that working, that’s a pretty novel idea. Thanks!

I’m just not sure what the key would be, right mouse is usually either for ADS or alt fire but if I included both I’d have to find a third convenient key to let the player switch. Maybe middle mouse or Q or something.
