The broken toilet was a clue from elsewhere so am happy that this is correct. I don't remember it though.

Thank you

In my head but a second person has said this elsewhere, just can't picture it (that means nothing but)

Nada sadly. Still a lot of memories today. Nada from Des, Morgan, Kelly Bass as of yet either. Head is melted

Da Club, wow, that's a name have not heard in a long time.

I do! Had to think where it was but I know where my towel is!

ha, played there dozens of times so likely one of the ones I know best tbh. There was a time when the Rock Garden was a great experience. Fell to shite when it changed hands sadly.

Amazing!

Must be my neurodiversity (like hiding a vampire's sock) but am finding it difficult to function until I find out.

look at you! That tracks re the Funnel. I mustn't have slept in the '90s
comment in response to post
Entirely possible/likely I am incorrect but I went with a chap I worked with from 94/97 so has to be in that window I reckon

I see "The Funnel" another name I know but can't picture

lol, 1995, christ.

That's ringing a bell, is it Rock Garden/Eamonn Doran's, big enough venue downstairs (played there a bunch) but had an upstairs for smaller gigs. It's possible but not chiming in the bonce

Update: Have seen a suggestion of "The Venue" being above St John Gogarty's but that's not tracking in my mind

HAHA, I was very young and drunk but I remember it being great.

Christ, The Furnace, of course! Only played there a couple of times but I remember that being one of the better set ups (alongside Temple Bar Music Centre). Saw Chumbawamba there

Unsure myself, more memories behind than in front at this stage so it's a bit crammed in there :)

I don't think so, but decent shout! Will put it to the committee!

God yeah, George's St direction brings me to Charlie's, somewhere else around Dame Lane. I wonder was it something like USIT off the quays

an excellent call

oh hang on, we had an ad on our wall in Ratra (remember?) for some ska chap, Louis something, for Charlies! Am not getting Ska vibes from "The Venue" but. Long time ago and memory is fading at my age lol

Definitely city centre. Portobello had the lower decks iirc. I'll figure it out!
comment in response to post
Aye. It's driving me nuts

Yip. Great times there (when it was the underground lol)

@fanningsessions.bsky.social perhaps you can help?

We're thinking southside inner but at a loss. Perhaps an add on to an existing pub. 100% it was a thing by that name but nightmare to google like!

Onto another chap from the scene and it's all rolling into one for him too.

Knew the term but never really applied it irl. But same. Like anti newspeak ya dig
