It honestly shows how new canon did have some decent ideas that just never showed up in the skywalker saga movies at all. There were some implications for a good post-war Iraq analogy there that could have been very interesting on the big screen.

The only one that comes to mind is "The Great Pacific War" talking about the wild scenario of the US and Japan going to war with eachother in the near future. But that came out in the late 1920s/early 1930s, so not the time period I presume you are looking for.

I'll bet that he'll try and pull what Shūmei Ōkawa tried at Tokyo and convince everyone he was just mentally ill and taken advantage of so that he can't stand trial. Equally likely odds that he tries throwing everything at the wall, including "I was just following orders" and comes across insane.

I'm a bit more sympathetic than other people on here re: certain voters, but yeah the only people who can say with any honesty that they didn't vote for this are Harris voters. Everyone else, including non-voters, contributed to this.

I consider 1989 to be the end due to the fall of Soviet influence in Eastern Europe, which in many ways was the beginning of the Cold War and one of the very first issues. After that, the USSR ceased to really be seen as much of a problem and some in the US even came to see it as a friend.
