Hearing Calvin's version of a language makes me think of it a lot more than you'd think. It's a fascinating glimpse into his way of processing everything around him.
He doesnt speak English, he speaks Calvinish.

It's interesting trying to compare that to the Delaware leadership (the only one I'm even slightly familiar with these days).
There are so many shades of grey everywhere.

Kind of like that concept that fear and excitement are fed by the same brain chemicals, it's all about how we interpret things.

Those are the days I'm found mutter-singing "momma said there'd be days like this, momma said, momma said" and then my brain gets distracted by the shiny do-wop for a momnet.

You are out of sight, but not off my mind. I do worry about you being in the general vicinity of chaos but I trust you have the supports you need in place. I am glad to see a check-in here and there to reassure my old-bitty-brain that existence continues.

Can you please respond to the National Guard situation in California and reassure Delawareans that our own guard won't be used in this way?

I loved my route to and from college (Texas to Pennsylvania). It was three highways. I could (and did*) do it in my sleep.
*(Thank you Arkansas truckers for keeping me on the road back in the 90s while I argued with the dashboard troll that ate my engine!)

Calvin lives and breathes Daniel Tiger, and YouTube has a plethora of other language episodes. These live rent-free in my head.

Blackrock Summit in Shenandoah Virginia. It's kind of a cliff over a valley in the mountains. You can see forever while still being nestled in the trees. It also was made beautiful by what surmounting it meant for me physically, and also the memory of my son and his step-dad bonding on the rocks.

Because as beautifully structured as the poem is, I refuse to rage against the dying of the light. The sun sets on us all; to scream and fight is a child's tantrum. Narcissism: "but not ME surely!"
Courage is not to rage against inevitable dark, but to shine as brightly as we can while we are here.

I'm too heavy for dissection. So straight to the oven for me!
My late husband, we shot his ashes out of a canon, planted under a tree, and released in a waterfall, and and and. He's all around now, doing the traveling he couldn't in life.

This is from Hamilton, but based on a pamphlet by Samuel Seabury.

See...it doesn't matter if the Federal government takes away or de-funds the state medicaid plans, the plans are going to kill us or at least make us miserable long before the government figures out it's shit.

With absolutely no change in anything, his insurance (state medicaid plan) has decided that they don't cover the liquid form AND they "prefer" a different med.
What the actual fraack?
Oh and his pharmacy is closing, good luck jumping these hoops at the pharmacy across the street!

I got written up for taking a non-smoking smoke break with a colleague. So, I started smoking. I do NOT recommend that level of defiant action.
