I think the Trump presidency has adequately demonstrated the need to seriously limit the power of a chief executive. In the future, if there is to be a President, everything that person does should be subject to Congressional oversight. The next POTUS should need permission to even take a piss. 😏

The person filing the charges is none other than Alina Habba. I think she got her law degree through a correspondence course whose ad she found on the back pages of a Popular Mechanics magazine. She'll be laughed out of court. 😆

Trump lying is never a news story. Trump telling the truth? That'd be news. 🙄

"Groceries" might be a new word in the Trump vernacular, but it's obvious he never misses an opportunity to partake in mass quantities of them. You don't miss too many meals; do ya Donald. 😏

Hopefully they will also discover how truly evil the GOP is. Don't kid yourself folks. This current version of the Republican party is nothing new. This is who they've been all along. Donald Trump just emboldened them to reveal their true selves.

I'm angry that Trump is POTUS. Embarrassment is reserved for the ones who voted for him. We who have been dragged KICKING and SCREAMING into this fascist Trumpian nightmare have no reason to be embarrassed. This mess is NOT our fault.

Retired Marine General and former Whitehouse Chief of Staff, John Kelly, called Donald Trump "the most flawed person he's ever met". He warned that a second Trump term would be truly disasterous. Why did nobody heed that warning?

Stephen Miller walks into a bar holding a goose. The bartender looks up. "What are you doing with that PIG?" He asks. "Can you not see this is a GOOSE?" Replies Stephen. The bartender grins. "I was talking to the GOOSE!!!"

Liberals have more buying power than MAGAs. We don't like your hatred and your bigotry. If you want our business, don't be EVIL! How difficult is that to comprehend? 🙄

FAFO... I suspect these coal miners voted for Donald Trump. Let them now reap what they have sown. Had they voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016, they'd have been given training and would now be working in jobs that didn't involve breathing coal dust and dying of black lung disease.

Elon is quite possibly the world's most hated living man. Even the most hardcore MAGA cultists hate him. He' d be better off finding somewhere he can lay low for the rest of his life.

I just noticed that AOC is now old enough to run for President. I hope she'll do that. If she does, she definitely has my vote. GO FOR IT Alexandra. 👍

In a normal world, we wouldn't be talking about Hegseth's resignation. We'd be looking forward to an indictment for espionage.

In a fascist regime, creditors will become predatory. Interest rates for any loans will skyrocket -- but it won't matter because very few people will have the ability to qualify. Why? No job; no money means no lending or borrowing. Think the summer of 2008 was bad? You ain't seen nothin' yet.

I guess it comes down to priorities then. Good credit or the survival of our republic and our democracy. Given that -- what use will good credit actually be in a MAGA society where NOBODY has disposable income? For me, the choice seems clear. I kinda like freedom and democracy.

If it became a mass movement, it'd be difficult for creditors to punish everyone. I'm not saying stop paying all together. Just miss one payment to show them we mean business.

I would also suggest withholding credit card, mortgage, and loan payments for one month. Hit the billionaires in their wallets, where it hurts. Cut off their money source and we'll definitely get their attention. 👍👍

Chuck Schumer should be removed as Senate Minority Leader. Can you say "NOTICE TO VACATE?" Schumer has feet of clay. That won't do in the current political climate. The GOP are NAZIS. Treat them as such. NO MORE BACKROOM DEALS!!!
comment in response to

Senate Dems should hit Chuck Schumer with a motion to vacate. His decision to move forward with this continuing resolution is inexcusable. Make Adam Schiff the new minority leader. Schumer doesn't have the fortitude to lead in this political climate. He's just too weak.

Much of the American adult population is already considered to be functionally illiterate. Donald Trump LOVES the poorly educated because they're so easily manipulated.

If you're gonna be a junky in America, big pharma only wants you buying from them. Cannabis was illegal for decades because big pharma didn't want the competition. The whole reason we have a fentanyl problem is because Perdue pharmaceuticals got hundreds of thousands strung out on Oxycontin.

Everything we're seeing from the billionaire class shows that they consider working class Americans as disposable. They want to work us till we're dead. No healthcare, no rest, no retirement. Work HARD and die EARLY. That's their plan for the working class.

If Donald has accomplished anything these past few weeks, it is to demonstrate that obsolescence of the presidency. Maybe it's time for the United States to move away from this "unitary executive" system and head another direction. No one person should wield unchecked power.

Fact checking Donald Trump? Ha! That shouldn't take too long. Everything the man says is a lie. 🙄

Following the Bush Jr. Presidency, Republicans berated Barack Obama for going on a non-existent "apology tour". For the record, there was no such tour. However; after Trump leaves office, an apology tour to our allies, by his successor will definitely be necessary.

One word... BOYCOTT!!! Trump has nothing to say that'll be of any interest to Dems. It'll be Trump's propaganda hour, or two, or three. The man loves to hear himself talk.

F**k around, find out. A lot of Trump voters are in the find out stage of FAFO. They know who is. They had four years of Trump before Biden. They were warned countless times that his second term would be far worse. They chose POORLY. They made their bed. Let them now lie in it.

I believe Joy will land on her feet. She has always been the consummate professional. Her talents were being wasted on cable news. She needs to go independent. She has too much integrity for the networks. I'm looking forward to seeing her on her own channel.

That's a valid point. Abraham Lincoln was a beloved President but my thinking is that he was too easy on the Confederates. If they had been punished appropriately in the 1860s, we probably wouldn't be having such a problem with their progeny here in 2025. Yes. I said it. Lincoln failed us.

Access can be a double edged sword, lest we forget that it was media who made Trump in the first place. Once Trump has excluded all the legitimate journalists, who then will he turn to keep his name and likeness in the public eye? He craves attention. Let's stop giving it to him.

This from the guy who was afraid to hold a traditional inauguration ceremony on the National Mall because he knew attendance would be sparse. Instead he took the oath in the much smaller Capitol Rotunda so he could pack the venue with his lackeys. You're losing it Donald. NOBODY LIKES YOU!!

The failure is not yours John. As liberals we need to recognize that Trump supporters have always been who they are right now. They have always been motivated by hatred and prejudice. It's time for real patriots (libs) to move America forward without them.

Here's a suggestion Mark. Get all the multi-billionaires, like yourself, and contribute 1/10th of your fortunes toward creating a solution to world hunger. If you folks donated A TENTH of your assets, you'd still be VERY wealthy, and nobody would ever have to go hungry again. Just do it. 👍

John... All due respect but it's hard to see why anyone would believe there's a god given the peril our nation is in. Was the pandemic, and more than a million deaths God's plan? Is it his plan to see tens of thousands of children murdered in their classrooms? If so then "God" is EVIL.

I suspect we're going to see a mass exodus of FBI agents from the bureau. Kash Patel is a small evil man with an ax to grind. He'll turn the FBI into Trump's private gestapo. His problem is gonna be keeping enough agent to implement Trump's nefarious plans.

With credentials like this, I doubt she'll have any problems finding work in the private sector. She'll probably make a lot more money too. I'm betting she wasn't looking forward to working for Trump anyway, was she?

Kinda surprising it took even that long. I expected Trump to declare his fealty to Putin on the very first hour of day one.
