Coalitions is a perfect example of how this is good. Mamdani and Lander aren't fighting for the same voters who could cannibalize each other's voters. If 60% of voters support their platforms, there's no reason Cuomo should win the primary because it's too crowded.

It would be interesting to see in the past 4 or so World Cup cycles how many top 48 teams failed to qualify from each confederation. FIFA rankings aren't perfect, but I do think it would give us a better understanding of which continents are generally underrepresented

There are definitely good teams in Africa who don't make the world cup every year, but there are also good teams in Europe who don't make it. Both confederations are hard to qualify from imo.
I would say CONCACAF is maybe the easiest to qualify from if you have an ok team.
