bsky.app/profile/jfre... 26 Federal Plaza. Agree it's a good stunt.

I think www.eatyourbooks.com does this?

I've had to argue with people about this - Tomatoes canned in CA have citric acid listed on the label, while those canned in Italy don't. It's because EU labeling standards are less strict than ours, not because Italian tomatoes don't have preservatives!

Omg I listened to
That SO MUCH that year. The CD was pretty much permanently in the player.

Craziest thing I have ever seen was Pike Place Market on a Friday afternoon in summer, hundreds of tourists overflowing the sidewalks and crossing mid-block, with a line of traffic snaking up Pike Place...

We have one here too. Excellent idea.

I don’t get it either but it’s not just an age thing. There’s a lot on here too unfortunately. And in NYC I’ve seen it irl on subway ads. Someone even scrawled “AI Slop” on a poster I see all the time.

The distributors do. QBP and Specialized/Trek, etc. The impact will be minimal because they want everything to be in by May 1.

Same here (birth year and immunity faded)

Urgent care has it and the cutoff for one reason is 1968 - but even if you were vaccinated later it could fade over time. I was born in 72 and vaccinated sometime in the 70s but I couldn’t find my record and my immunity was below what it should be after so many years in a blood test.

Yeah every time I scroll threads I spend more time looking at the date than reading the posts.

100% these have been around for years and years (since at least the Bush years).

Yes, this is mostly shining a light on things that have been happening for years - none of this is new but I'm glad to see it get the attention it deserves.

The rare IRL topic I know about is Tiktok (not airports) and yeah this shit is crazy for that reason too.

Just FYI I will never click on a link with a garbage AI photo. I'm sure I am not the only one.

In Scandinavia maybe... Don't think it's quite so steep anywhere else even within Europe. In the us we are at what, 8-9% BEV?

It's already happening if you follow the "SEO influencers" online. They've given up on search ranking and are going for LLM visibility (which derives from search ranking in some cases).

I know you’re joking but it’s actually somewhat hard to get Thai cooks to make it really hot if you’re white. I speak fluent Thai and I always have to explain. “yes I can eat spicy food, yes I really mean it, yes I know what I’m asking for”

I really miss that caramelized flavor you only get from the burnt coffee in the nooks and crannies of a carafe that has only been rinsed in cold water once a week.

Were there PowerPoint slides? Was any woman under the age of 40 within twenty feet of him? (I believe that's illegal now.)

The time-honored tradition of citywide elected officials pandering to Fox-News-watching outer borough residents. Same strategy Adams used. Basically going for the NY Post vote.

I work with so many people like this. Just totally clueless about what LLMs are and can do.

I’m going through the same exact thing. Recruiter Monday: “next few days” Thursday: “today” Friday “today”… and now nothing.
