On one of the first archipelagos I did, a friend was playing super metroid and didn't turn off any options, so naturally he had to do lava dive and a LOT of other crazy wall jumps.
...we had to cheat for space jump.

More randomizers should yearn to be like paper mario 64. The site for it has a list of 169 glitches for skips and traversal, most of them with either a video or a link to a site explaining how to do it with gifs.

I feel like it's a missed opportunity to have learned more about that side of the family, too.
It seems like it's the way the dialect went, because there's less speakers of it nowadays than ever before, so my family's experience was far from unique.

My grandmother learned Portuguese at school after years of speaking German (technically a Brazilian-only dialect of German, brought by immigrants in like, late 1800s) but there was no effort from her to teach anyone in the family any of it and my mother actively hates the language...

I remember really wanting to try it, but as a Japanese-only game it would've been very difficult. A few years later, Grand Kingdom would come out on the vita and it is basically some of the same people trying to make the same game again, and that one did get an english translation!

The passive voice going so hard that they're treating "cop fires gun at journalist" and "journalist is hit by bullet" as two entirely unrelated events. Ridiculous.

I could at least understand if the game itself was popular and she was a hated character there, like SF4 players hated Rufus, SF5 players hated Abigail, etc, but folks have second-hand hatred that they just won't let go.

I'm not telling anyone to love her, I don't love her
I'm telling people who played her game to maybe not hold a 20 year grudge on a nothing character and telling people who DIDN'T play the game to maybe form their own opinion instead of just parroting someone else's opinion
comment in response to
post
I'm asking folks who actually played the game she's in to maybe not be foaming at the mouth at the thought of her showing up and for the folks who didn't play it and hate her to not base their opinions entirely on what they heard from someone else. That's all there is to it.

3rd strike characters are tricky to evaluate because it didn't sell well but the game's like, an industry darling for the most part
that said my opinion of give the character a chance would stay the same
comment in response to

hey quick question, do you know why people find the whole "earthbound fan excited to play it for the first time" funny? because it's the same reason why most people hate her
comment in response to
post
I don't love the character
I played like two hours of alpha 3 on the PSP
this isn't me excited to play her for the first or second time
it's like having strong opinions on Eagle

a whole fucking lot more people played SF4 than they played the games Ingrid's in
like I get Pat played all of them but it's way easier to find someone who hates Rufus because they played SF4 than someone who hates Ingrid because they played her games
comment in response to
post
I'm saying there's 3 characters to be excited about and a fourth that could reasonably be anything because she's basically nothing of a character
comment in response to
post
she's not "my character", just don't get why would people care so much about hating something they've at best interacted with like once 20 years ago
at best it's a weird grudge
at worst it's "Ingrid haters excited to play a game she's in for the first time" type of shit
comment in response to
post
you seem like the type of person who celebrates being blocked because you managed to be enough of a nuisance to be noticed and thus you "won" the debate
comment in response to
post
how often do you have to deal with Ingrid for her to be something you still hate 20 years later
comment in response to
post
because for every person that played the games she was in there's a bunch of others who didn't and hate her because they heard about it
she's in TWO GAMES THAT DIDN'T SELL
it's like thinking skullomania was cool, but basically no one played the fucking games dude was in
comment in response to
post
alright so you're in the 10% of Ingrid haters that played the game, got it, time for my second argument
it's been 21 years, you can let it go

Three failed deliveries before the delivery guy just fucking called my phone and told me to meet up with him at the receptionist desk.
comment in response to

Found out a few months ago the apartment complex I live in has a policy that deliveries must be attempted at the apartment and can be dropped off at receptionist desk if not successful, but one company has policy to always just drop stuff off at the first point of contact, the receptionist desk.

But barely anyone ever played the game, it's all second-hand hatred.

Except it wasn't at a time where the market was flooded, it was basically CV and The Surge at that point and CV had a NPC teammate which made the game MUCH friendlier to people who played the game solo.

kayin I need to tell you they delayed the announcement of a game by 20 minutes
they literally had a message of "we need more time" and then did it 20 minutes later
