Definitely not isolated to Toronto. Janette Sadik-Khan talked about those struggles in NYC in her book "Streetfight" while Alberta could have their own Bill 212 fight on their hands in Calgary and Edmonton.

LOL! That hair-do is priceless!

Those are sharrows, not bike lanes.

With all these cities pedalling back on bike lanes as of late, I'm like Stew in The Hangover screaming "WTF IS GOING ON?!?! right now! This is absolute bonkers! 🤬🤬🤬

Absolutely Holyday needs to be booted! ;) Nunziata also needs to retire along with Crisanti, Thompson, and maybe Colle (though he's not bad).

Paula Fletcher seriously needs to retire and allow some new blood to represent Toronto Danforth.

Unlike some cycling projects, this was one where I could somewhat sympathize with the critics since they were still supportive of the Galley bikeway and allowing two-way cycling on Seaforth and Macdonell.

I heard. There was a fair bit of pushback regarding some of the traffic changes with the West Parkdale Cycling Connections project. Especially that direction flip on Macdonell. Having used to live in the area, I can see where city staff was coming from, but it wasn't necessary for the bikeway.

Absolutely unacceptable! I donated to TTCriders last week for the first time ever to help them counter this car-brain nonsense! Thanks for all the work you do with them. 👊

Yeah, especially coming from those who refuse to identify themselves even though we know Summerhill Market was associated with the campaign earlier on.

Kind of an unfair comparison given the pandemic played a significant role with the record number of bike lane installations under John Tory, while Doug Ford played his Bill 212 trump card against Olivia Chow which risks slowing down progress from 2025 onwards.

Knowing ABC Toronto (and other right wing types), they will be putting pressure on Tory, Bradford, Mendocino, Bailao, and other potential candidates to unite behind one anti-Chow option a lot sooner this time around. Furey likely won't play ball as he's too far to the right.

Good lord! Then again, I have been hearing a lot of bad things about Eric Adams as of late.

I'm sorry, Gil, but I flat out disagree on this one. Toronto has already acted on accessibility concerns such as elevators at High Park #TTC station & recently approved a plan for shuttle service. If NYC can make Central & Prospect Parks car-free, so can we with High Park! #BikeTO #WalkTO #TOpoli

Oh yeah! That reminds me this exists on Argyle one block east of Ossington!

Seaforth and Macdonell Avenues allow two way cycling and one way driving without contraflows, as does Edwin Avenue south of Dupont Street.

Thanks for calling out the ridiculous car-brain in this city, Ray. However, I should mention some of the car-brains here are even railing against proposed RapidTO bus priority lanes on Dufferin and Bathurst Streets for next year's FIFA World Cup using similar arguments as those to oppose bike lanes.

Some streets in Parkdale are like that because the streets are too narrow to accommodate one traffic lane and one contraflow bike lane without removing parking.
