I think it's often more to do with bias or projection. Also a lot of narcissism and inability to look outside of their own experiences.

Sure... for public personalities and people with huge followings it doesn't need to be bigger, but for small guys who want more of their people over here? People who get little to no interaction? Yeah, it could be bigger. I understand the sentiment, though.
