Here I am dipping my toe in yet another social media channel, hoping its "the one". Here for a broad mix of nature, humor, gaming/TV/movies and US politics (my one true vice)

And the MAGA who feared social security numbers because it was the mark of the beast and won't buy an Alexa because they don't want anyone listening will gladly accept his idea on its face.

And the implied: 'if you give the report any credence then you hate our troops.' 🙄

And didn't @bennet.senate.gov already try to put forward a bill to stop crypto corruption but got no support so then tried to add an amendment to the other bill which failed and then voted his conscience against the crypto bill?

Even before Bluesky or any social media, I've never understood the eye roll that comes when people talk about a pop culture or sports topic. If your not interested but seven other people are, then just listen and learn. Or just zone out even.

"See, we want someone like Rogan but in a palatable way who doesn't go off the rails we provide. You know, someone who will only point out faults of the other side but not require too much introspection. Oh! And we need to keep our own power, they should t be too uppity."

Just sitting here praying this was a scheduled tweet that the social manager forgot they had teed up before the weekend because of this is what you actually chose to post in real time tonight -- Oh God, it IS what you chose isn't it? 🤦🏼‍♀️

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the unconstitutional attack on Iran isn't important but our electeds are proving they really CAN'T focus on two things at once. And we haven't talked about the #MAGAMurderBill. Tomorrow is a day to make some calls!

Yes! All of this.

I think most do. This person is less sure.

For real @jamellebouie.net you should listen to the podcast. No one has done better investigative journalism on the event.

And those of us who have been sharing your work since then too. You did reach people, some just don't want to listen. Keep doing what you are doing. Very few are as thorough as you.

Because they'd rather have it as something to run on than to end it two years before an election. It's up to all of us now. People who witness these things should call 911 every time and put the local agencies directly on the hook to respond. At a minimum the frequency would be on the record.

The insecure 🍊 saw sentiment on immigration tipped against him and needed a distraction to feel tough. Our best case scenario is we get through this with no retaliation and weaker Iranian capabilities while stil living under an authoritarian regime on our own soil. We need to stay loud on ALL fronts

He's going to enforce it how exactly? Does Trump lose phone and TV privileges?

And how about the fact that in coastal cities like LA, New York and Miami it's actually two Federal agencies working in cooperation each with different latitude to ignore constitutional rights. ICE and CBP. The lack of ID also gives each agency ability to blame the other.

So important that we take time to celebrate these moments. Even though they shouldn't happen at all, if we don't take the time to acknowledge then we won't have the strength to keep fighting and believing that we can overcome evil.

My concern is that they are using CPB which I understand has more latitude in taking action without warrants, including detainment and searching cars, people and phones. And against US Citizens. They have jurisdiction in all these coastal cities. Is this being looked at?

I'm in Dem districts but I will do a phone bank. And I will call mine anyway to let them know they better not f around.

Got it. Thanks for the response!

This is excellent! I will research a few key facts and share with friends and family. If you have seen any facts or talking points you think are particularly resonant, I'd love to know!

All historical lack of action aside, can Congressional members hold the individuals "following policy" accountable? If so, does it require committee approval or anything like that? I don't just mean what would work, I mean what options are available at all?
comment in response to post
Can someone with more knowledge than me weigh in? CBP is not any less threatening than ICE in LA. They have jurisdiction in LA (bcuz it's with 100 miles of the coast) to search cars without a warrant and identify/detain people here illegally?

Rep Goldman is stammering because he's trying to shut out his inner monologue of "What the fuck is he wearing? Is that Toucan Sam? Why the beer? Wait, why am I wearing a sports jacket? Is it casual Friday already? Is this guy for real? Why is she smirking at ME? I mean again what the ACTUAL fuck?"

Not that his opinion on any topic is worth reading but of ALL the reasons for a VP to engage on this platform, this is the topic that pushed him to do so and to do it dishonestly? Tells us souch about what they feel the most threatened by.

I'm a former Pentecostal now agnostic and think the same thing every day.

It's almost like he knows that his branch of government has neutered themselves and are unlikely to be asked to approve any action in accordance with the authority provided in the Constitution.

And probably the same people that reply with "do something" to every elected who posts about an atrocity and "this isn't going to do anything" to every protest post.

Just wanted to say that one of the things I appreciated about this action was the number of options throughout the suburbs and rural towns. It spreads the message farther and makes it more accessible for people to participate. It may seem like smaller crowds but it adds up to more impact IMO

@chenoweth.bsky.social it would be a privilege to hear your perspective!

Here's an article with more about where the 3.5% comes from. It's specifically for non-violent protests and sustained action. A worthy goal that we are clearly capable of achieving based on this weekend! www.bbc.com/future/artic...
