When you say "it's always white guys doing this", you're talking about Rs who produce these types of votes, and Dems who vote yes to these appeasement bills?
Because, as a Californian, I'm most disappointed to see Swalwell and Harder there (both white guys, by the way).

Keep blaming the people who feel a party of resistance should actually resist. Your pragmatism is certainly enabling.
What you're actually saying is that they had to choose between pissing off moderate Rs or pissing off their own base and they chose the latter.
But sure, keep blaming the people.

Wow, almost like anyone with a brain (or who have seen this maneuver dozens of times over the years) could have seen this coming.
Vote no, and the Rs will hammer you. Vote yes, and the Rs will still hammer you, along with your own supporters. Then blame the supporters.
Idiocy.

Oh please. These clowns still haven't learned that REGARDLESS of how they vote, the Rs are going to frame them the way they like?
Would be nice to have some actual resistance from an organized leftist party.

Maybe I'm way too cynical, but wonder if that would even hurt her with her base.

I've been expecting Wade Jr. to regress back closer to his normal production, and the last two weeks have been an improvement - but feels like that's a glaring weakness offensively for the roster.
On the other hand, they are 26-12 in games where he gets three or more ABs. /shrug

And me, a Kings fan, thinking how we passed on Luka in the draft and traded Tyrese in his sophomore season. 🤮🤮

Good question, I don't recall the last time I was in a Target that didn't have one.

I'm curious if CVS has seen any dropoff - at least here in California, many are located inside Target stores.
Anecdotally, my family stopped shopping at Target and moved our prescriptions out of the embedded CVS as well.

Within a four year span, the Kings decided they didn't want Luka Doncic or Tyrese Haliburton.

I'm not changing my preseason feeling - if they can be better than .500 this year, I'm happy. If they are even sniffing the playoffs in September, I'll be ecstatic.
So far, so good. 💪

Same for me, but with a strength build instead of dex. I always have intentions of trying something new in a run, but it's just not as fun as blocking, dodging and bonking.

He certainly seemed to think so. But it was only a few days, he's spoken to nobody, and a good defense attorney presumably could make the case the other guy was the brains of the operation.
Cynically, I'd say he makes his own deal to avoid trial, gets a short stint in a CC prison & keeps some $$.

This sort of ignores the fact that we elected the guy, and he's doing mostly what he said he'd do.
Pretty clear there's no amount of pain that will break the spell over his cult. They ain't taking up arms anytime soon.

We're both assuming he gets back to the Carolinas, hires a great defense attorney, takes a plea deal and they're still rich. 😆

Great read, Sophie. My wife and I were discussing this a bit - it feels like they could have fleshed him out a lot more in the middle of the season, rather than his constant stupor.
The primary theme (IMO) has always been about the lack of consequences for the rich, no matter the behavior.

I mean, I'm not a CEO or anything, but at their core Republicans don't believe in public "anything", much less National Public Radio. So I wouldn't expect to have a significant percentage of those particular dipshits working for me.

Feels a bit panicky. Clearly, they are worried they aren't going to get either the drivers' or constructors' titles this season, and don't want to fall too far behind in the latter.

I'm almost 60, and tend to be an apologist for this party.
But what just happened has me more upset than anything I can recall.
60 votes for cloture is specifically in place to assist the minority party and prevent one party from unfettered power. They pissed it away instead of fighting - FOR US.
