Looking to re-establish a bit of what I actually liked on the other site - connections to the good people of B’more/MD, as well as other interests - Packers, Orioles, birding, history, science, food (especially Chicago/Philly food)…

That’s awesome.

Come on. We all wanted to see where Proctology came out. Don’t tease us like that…

You underestimate him. He’ll still figure out a way to blame it on Biden.

My colleague in Winnipeg has offered us use of their cabin. But they have no spring or summers there as far as I am aware…

That I do remember. I walked or used my Presto card everywhere!

Yup. I didn’t appreciate the depths until I moved to Arlington around 2006 and took my first casual drive out into the VA countryside and realized how quick that happens. Not more than 30 mins out and gas stations FULL of confederate swag. Was so jarring.

Oh no!!! Mine broke after a Ragnar relay race (monumentally dumb idea), and then rebroke, and I spent a LOT of swampy DC heat in a boot. So bad.

Dunno about you, but the allergies are also just kicking my ass this season more than usual too…

Stay strong - I just recently had to make a pretty significant diet shift and am trying to find time to ramp up the walking and other activities. It ain’t easy!

That sucks. Foot pain is so under-appreciated. I broke the sesamoid bone under my big toe, and for a bone the size of a pea, that buckled me for months. Hope you get some relief before upcoming tours. :(

I’ll be heading back to Toronto for a work kickoff next month. Haven’t been there in almost 9 years. If you have any restaurant/bar recommendations, I’d love to hear them!

Took me way too long to remember the yogurt. I’m ashamed.

Well, he’ll turn 10 the day before (birthday trip). It’s kind of funny - you do some reading up and you learn how little evidence there is for most of the ghost stories, but spooks bring in the cash I guess!

They do, but the kid actually seemed a bit nonplussed and worried when we told him and we couldn’t understand the reaction. “Daddy, do you KNOW how haunted the Queen Mary is?” May be an interesting night, LOL.

This is so awesome. Doing the lord’s work.

I wish you were kidding, but who the fuck knows anymore. I don’t like this ride anymore. I want off…

Amen. I forget who said it but it’s absolutely shocking to realize how many years of this country’s history were more or less based on an honor system.

We need to bring back Sarsaparilla.

Guessing it was all about the contracts. As much as he likes to present himself as a self-made visionary, he needs the government contracts…

I doubt there’s any real difference, we just happen to get the weird lucky one that nobody knows about so it’s always 5-10 mins. Good luck!

That sucks. We somehow lucked into a change to Quest and there’s one inside a nearby Safeway that nobody seems to know about. It’s like a magic door by the seafood section. Really bizarre but fortunate.

Agreed. What’s helped me some has been planning travel and other things to look forward to. The distraction helps a touch with the mental crap if not the to-do lists… Of course, the next family vaca is in LA in two weeks - awesome!

Dude looks like an overbaked potato dipped in jello.

Much worse in 2024 and 2025. I think I badly underestimated how the barrage of daily/horrible news can wipe you out. I am gassed by mid day and my to-do lists just don’t go anywhere...

This is one shitty gift, LOL.

You have to think a move or two ahead with these people. They’re just gonna say there were no hotels/lodging available because LA was using them to house all the migrants.

10-15 minutes, but it’s only because I’m partially distracted by the physical pain and discomfort of waking up while getting old.

I feel kind of dirty saying this because I know how it could come off, but I wonder how much the stroke impact plays in? Part of me feels like it might be easier to be swayed by constant right-wing messaging in the absence/impairment of nuanced and reasoned thought.

Yeah, it’s stunning. There were some obvious things in his past that would give one pause (being polite), but there was a lot of good too, and the pivot has been brutal.

Mother’s Day gift this year to wife was a solo hotel night. And she has never been happier.

Our milkweed patch is a few feet from a hydrangea bush my wife put in 3:4 years back and there’s never been any issues. Sure you’ll be fine…

Yup, insurance companies just won’t cover them now, so yeah, I think we’re pretty much cooked.
comment in response to post
Yeah, it won’t be hard - insurance companies will just choose not to cover the vaccines he throws overboard. We’re cooked…
comment in response to post
Of course, that led to about 20 other questions, but that’s not unusual…

Dunno if it will help you moving forward but I shared this with my Mom a few months back… youtu.be/o8hyprJ6qs4?...

You’ve got to be fucking kidding me. I can’t with these people.

Good then. Very good.

Amen. Also, Sorcerer is absolutely and 1000% criminally underrated. I will die on that hill.
