right so after a few minutes of trying the same thing over and over again, I essentially removed those "important" tables from the SQL file and imported. now my users were gone but thankfully I knew what the passwords were and there and I was back up and running.
I am really dumb. 😭

but the nightmare wasn't over, as it turns out, that backup SQL file had previous "mysql" and other important tables that were for the version pre-wipe. the first time I tried to import it, the user accounts were broken beyond belief but the data was there...

I reconnected via navicat and then to my horror, the list of tables evaporated before my very eyes. instinctively, I went to my MinIO to look for backups, thankfully this saved me as there was a backup waiting for me...

apparently, docker wiped the existing volume that it auto-created and only mounted my config... now this is the production database so you bet within 5 seconds the alarms started ringing...

replication was today's mission, so I created a dataset in TN and then a config file inside it, then I edited the docker container's volumes (now I didn't have any volumes so docker ig created one for me) but here's where the trouble began...
