I love the effort to call this a "pro-democracy" movement. This terminology needs to catch on. That's exactly what it is.

The Democrats didn't need to. Trump articulated it himself. It just sounded so horrible when he said it out loud that no one believed him.

They're afraid Iran will use them, and afraid Israel won't.

This is great! So heartening to see.

Courage would have been showing up in DC. The million man march and BLM did it. But the 'No Kings' 'bravely' protested far from the King's gaze.

"Bravely"? If they were brave they would have bussed themselves to DC.

If the protesters had been in Washington DC, standing in front of Trump, they would get the attention they deserved. Whimpers in the distance are seldom heard.

In New Zeaand, ambulances are paid for by volunteers and cost an $80 flat rate. Run by St Johns.

The one exception is Julia Armfield's "Our Wives Under the Sea" which has exceptional prose. Check it out.

I can't agree more. I make a point of reading whatever floats to the top of Man Booker, NYT etc, and they're either 90% bloat or just plain awful. Thank god for libraries and used book stores.

"Takes quite a bit of money" - how much is your freedom and safety worth?

It looks a lot like New Zealand. The universe is telling us something.

It costs $25,000+ to birth a baby in America's health care system. Maybe instead of a cash payment the Treasury can't afford, just provide free health care?

NZ here: We planned for two years to visit the US for a road trip during summer holidays Dec 2025. We cancelled those plans. We can't risk any member of our family facing a surprise detention, or travel in a country that simmers with unrest, condones racism, and normalizes violence.

For years, gun owners have resisted a national registry for fear of the government arresting citizens, but when the tax rolls are proposed for just such an action, not a peep.

First they inject all that money into our economy. Then, when the borders close due to US chaos, we get free bunkers!

He's a hypocrite. He wants to offshore prisons while talking about bringing manufacturing home. And pay to build those prisons in another country while stopping foreign aid. He has no plan. Clueless.

Better yet, travel abroad... and stay there.

Would love to see the list. How about the fact that American voters overwhelmingly cite "the economy" as their number one concern but don't have the foggiest idea about economics, tariffs, treasury bonds, US debt levels or any of the critical elements that made up this fiasco.

In New Zealand, Americans are just looked at with pity. To much of the world, American politics are a soap opera. They love to ask me about it, then shake their head at my misfortune.

When I moved to New Zealand, I was able to vote in my first year as a Resident, not a citizen. It makes sense. I pay taxes. I live here. I work here. Why wouldn't I be represented by democracy? Sad it took leaving the US to find out what freedom means.

"No taxation without representation," remember? So when you pass SAVE, non-citizens no longer have to pay tax? Right?

LNG does not fit with green goals, so that would be a no.

It's funny, but the chart is upside down. It was the bond yield rising that caused him to change his mind.

"...make the best food in the world." Bwahaha! I remember after I moved to New Zealand I was amazed at how good the steak was. I asked if it was grass fed steak. She didn't understand the question. ALL the beef here is grass fed, free range, hormone free. Why would we buy US meat? Yuck!
