Absolutely, and do not let your judgement about the cause prevent you from providing it.

I'm a big believer in reducing hierarchies and relating as fellow human beings on a level. There are some great role models of professionals who manage to share real stuff in a way that does this. Let's be brave with sharing and keeping it real.

I have totally avoided LinkdIn for that reason and because I've always thought it was just the place you look for jobs. Things have moved on but I'm keeping my head in the sand for now. Sounds like it's better to stay away.
