Not at all. U just brought it up quite out of context of the thread. It is a vastly different issue than if Canada is independent of the UK monarchy. I'm quite well informed on the negative impacts of colonialism on indigenous peoples.

European colonialism (not just the UK) is a topic there is no denying it but in the context of this thread its mention is part of the meandering negativity of the general comments made by them.

Its symbolic. We are fully independent. They occupy a symbolic role in our parliamentary style of government, which is derived from tbe british system. If ever the uk attempted to thwart the free will of canada the relationship would end.

Personally, I am happy that we are a fully independent part of the commonwealth of nations. A key part of MC's election platform was to strengthen our global ties and expand our trade and alignment with nations other than the US. I think is a great move and entirely appropriate.

IT is part of the 'system' its not THE system. In order for the system to work after new IT is installed, its got to be integrated. It cant just be 'dropped in'. Anyone who has done this more than once knows this and likely learned it the hard way. I cant imagine the scale of fuk up this will be.
