Not just universities though. Other professions also. Sadly.

......just waiting for someone to offer up a "but her emails" or maybe a rant on how "corrupt" Biden was. 🙄

I mean there's a very false assumption in this statement-- the para/military actors of this administration don't actually need a reason and then don't need pretext. The reason is outright suppression and violence of dissent. Anyone thinking they can protest more correctly and avoid harm is wrong.

I wish people were saying this more. I have heard folks saying that they say mask because they know what they are doing is wrong. I don't believe for a second that these are all actual vetted federal employees. They are hiding faces because they are thugs here to terrorize and disappear people.

Ugh. Why does my phone keep changing the spelling of marshals. Annoying.

Marshalls should not be under doj. They should be attached to the judiciary. If they are not moved, a separate body of officers to serve the needs of the judiciary is completely appropriate and necessary in these times.

This was exactly what I thought too.

Just wait for forced prison labor being used to manufacture goods that we can't actually import from China for cheap under tariff policies. The poor folks they claim "refuse to work" will be incarcerated without due process and put to work without the most basic wage and labor protections.

Yes! Yes. yes. everyone needs to be prepared to lay a firm clear boundary and fight for this. There is no reasonable compromise solution with bullies and fascists. The options are diametrically opposed. You stand firm in your position or get run over and absorbed into theirs.

It's not news. It's an infomercial. It's like going to the grocery store when the shelves are empty. Why even show up when there's no information? They're just going to hock trash and spin their stories.

Yes!! Bold and decisive action to actively oppose the current administration.

Truth. And it was bold. Decisive action that is not being carried out for the purpose of inflicting misery is needed.

Not closing offices at the same time as they are cutting phone access seems like a decent start. If we were looking for something actually proactive, application assisters for many benefits administrative processes can be really helpful if we want to meaningfully improve access.

They can reap what they have sewn. And, I would love to see some of them recalled also in the states that allow for recall elections.

And the US Marshals technically serve to enforce court directives, but this does not seem to be happening right now. So how do we enforce an order without the executive and where the Marshalls may have gone rogue.

Love love love this!!! It is sheer perfection.

Disagree. Focusing on what did or didn't happen in elections held months or years ago won't change or even impact where we are now. And I don't see anyone with enough energy to spare to reminisce about what could have been and deal with the current political meltdown.

Not relevant now.

Yes. Also SNAP though it is not getting the press coverage. You've been strong on protecting anti hunger programs before. Please protect SNAP now. Vote no on the CR.
