Just a reminder that Kash raised money for January 6 rioters, including co-producing a benefit single in which incarcerated rioters sing the national anthem while Trump recites the pledge of allegiance.

We don’t need to back off the American Gestapo and we don’t need to respect its agents. People exercising state violence are not entitled to anonymity. Nor are the people directing the state violence.

Some of y'all can't handle 2 high agency males going at it and it really shows

Whether it's a random liberal nobody praising Luigi on Facebook or a Republican cabinet nominee calling for genocide against all non-whites, there's plenty of incendiary rhetoric on both sides.

When Americans raised concerns about RFK Jr.'s anti-vaccine views, he said he was "not gonna take away vaccines from anybody." But now he's taking them away from millions of mommas and babies. Vaccine recommendations should be based on science, not RFK Jr.'s political agenda.

i think it should be a bigger story that the president held a meeting with a foreign head of state where he ranted about the most gutter white supremacist propaganda you can find on the internet

Kristi Noem, the homeland security secretary, bungled answers on Tuesday about habeas corpus, incorrectly saying that the legal right of people to challenge their detention by the government was actually the president’s “constitutional right” to deport people.

Trump admits (1) the company thrived during the last year of Biden’s economy and (2) will be bearing the brunt of tariffs in Trump’s economy

The Trump family stablecoin surged to 7th largest in the world because of a shady crypto deal with the United Arab Emirates—a foreign government that will give them a crazy amount of money. The Senate shouldn’t pass a crypto bill this week to facilitate this kind of corruption.

The US government, which has claimed it has to destroy American universities because a few pro-Palestinian protesters are evidence of unchecked anti-Semitism, is defending an actual neo-Nazi party in Germany.

Chuck Schumer makes it to the New Yorker cartoon section. And not in a good way. Chuck, this is your legacy unless you seriously step up. @schumer.senate.gov

And now, a note on Bill Owens who, until this past week, was the executive producer of 60 Minutes. We’ll be back next week with another edition of 60 Minutes.

In 1913 we did not Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, the EITC, SNAP or much else of a social safety net. Life expectancy was about 52 years. If this is the era they want to go back to, lets hear about all of it.

This is deranged. Jan. 6 defendants were repped by one of the best public defender offices in the U.S. They were more likely to be released pretrial & got comparatively light sentences. SCOTUS threw out a bunch of convictions, which almost never happens. They got gold-plated due process!

If they’re arguing that Harvard hasn’t done enough “in the public interest” to deserve tax exempt status, wait until they get a look at evangelical megachurches!

1/4. On the White House’s theory, if they abduct you, get you on a helicopter, get to international waters, shoot you in the head, and drop your corpse into the ocean, that is legal, because it is the conduct of foreign affairs.

What we saw today was two jumped up thugs and their bootlicking sychophants laughing at the US Constitution, the supreme court, and the idea that anyone can stop them from doing anything they want www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

El Salvador is a contractor providing the United States with a paid service. The idea that we couldn’t get anyone they’re holding back with the snap of a finger just by asking is so ludicrous on its face, it seems less like a real excuse and more like a test of how much shit the courts will eat.

How much do you think it costs to make a pair of Nike shoes in Asia? Before you open this thread, take a guess. Settle on a number and then compare it to what you'll learn in this thread. 🧵

Update: The House just passed the Republican voter suppression measure that threatens voting access for millions of Americans, including 69 million women whose married names don't match their birth certificates. Make sure your senators know you expect them to stand against it.

Amazing turnout for #HandsOffFortCollins! Northern Colorado is engaged and enraged. We’re not going back. @indivisible.org #handsoff

Strong showing at Fort Collins #HandsOff protest today. This is what democracy looks like

Congratu-BLEEPING-lations! It’s time we had a little talk about your use of expletive infixation. ‘Expletive infixation’ is the linguistic term for profanity inserted into a word for emphasis. (For this thread, we’ll use 'BLEEPING,' but feel free to substitute another word.)

Turned on #COLvCLT just in time to see two goals for the Rapids! Fantastic soccer! But the fans throwing their stadium-purchased beers in celebration? In this economy? Couldn't be me 🤣

A few years ago I visited the National Museum of African American History & Culture with my grandparents. When we stepped out of the building my grandmother kept repeating the words “I lived it. I lived it. I lived it.” She’s still here. That history is still in her bones. You can never erase that.

If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.

Unidentified men grabbing someone off the street and putting her in a car because she wrote an op-Ed. This as flatly authoritarian as anything we’ve seen in this country in a very long time.

Trump wants to set rules for the way states run their elections and wants DOGE to audit voter databases. DOGE. Not an independent entity - his cronies. Mike Johnson is talking about eliminating district courts. These are not actions you see in a Democratic Republic.

“The administration is playing a dirty game of chicken here. They are betting that Goldberg and the Atlantic’s staff are sufficiently responsible that [the administration] can lie with impunity…But that’s not how classified information works…The Atlantic should thus release the full text thread.”

In 25 years of covering national security, I’ve never seen a story like this: Senior Trump officials discussed planning for the U.S. attack on Yemen in a Signal group--and inadvertently added the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...
