I mean "Piano Man" is deservedly huge but I think "Captain Jack" is an underrated deep cut.

I'd say '50s rock 'n' roll, if only because the event partially responsible for ending it had a whole song written about it and is literally known as "The Day The Music Died".

Also his "Stupid Boy" is one of the great righteously pissed off country songs imo

As an '00s pop country connoisseur, yeah Keith Urban's pretty alright. If he's had any major controversies I don't know about 'em.

My knee jerk instinct is, original run Batman is pulp, dark gritty Batman sometimes is, but if he's soaring through the city with an army of colorful children to stop a clown from flooding the city with laughing gas, to me that's a superhero.

He was definitely created to be more of a pulp hero who became a superhero as his mythos got more elaborate and fantastical.

It's usually fine as long as you keep it locked to a specific circle of friends, but every once in a while the shitty stuff bleeds through.

Probably but I have too many friends there, and I'm too rambly to stick to microblogging 😩

All I can say is I'm so thankful Steven Page got out before they sank this low. He's still cool far as I'm concerned.

Appreciate it 💖 (Also while I have you, your episode of Song vs. Song was really good and beautiful and introduced me to some great songs so thanks for that 💖)

Huge agree! And idk how well it holds up but as a weird religious kid "You Found Me" really spoke to me. Something about an ostensibly religious song that's that bitterly cynical and angry at God really hits.

Believe it or not I think I can?
(Ftr as someone who got way too into them in middle school I always preferred "Over My Head" and "You Found Me")

Tbh this song kinda rules? She had a cool story, sad that her solo career didn't quite happen.

(Also not to be weird but given that Kendrick's flirted with BHI ideology in the past, it might be better for him to not get involved in antisemitism discourse. Too many land mines there.)
