That wasn't a military parade, that was a You're Fyred Festival.

perhaps most revealing is at 28-second mark, when the video zooms in on the DOGE-employed McLovin sitting on top of this thing, wearing the khakis his mom bought him four years ago that somehow still fit

Today's "primary" #nokings protest in Seattle moving from Cal Anderson Park down the hill to downtown. Wow. I've never seen this many bodies in a Seattle rally in my 18 years here.

I'll post face-hidden photos later, but this is indicative of the massive crowd marching thru Seattle's U District rn. No apparent counter protests. Real people, real opposition. #nokings

Correction, the below person is an apparent UW educator or alum. Also, @kelslewin.bsky.social tells me the singers I just posted about are known as the Raging Grannies, as her own grandma is a member.

Hi from Seattle's Red Square, where a chorus of older women are singing protest songs on today's stage; the last song ended with, "you've really pissed off Grandma." So it's pretty Seattle out here. I'm bad at estimating crowds but it's definitely hundreds, maybe 1,000+? Faceless pic:

hey MtG ppl, is this a good shiny also I guess I'm playing MtG now

every Seattle store is sold out of Switch 2 slim cases. and they're also all sold out online, unless I'm missing a good one. where oh where is a simple, nice, thin case that I can toss into my messenger bag so I can stop wrapping this $450 device in a sweater

I want to post about weird video games and all this fucking fascism keeps happening

In a better world, this would end with a cut-n-dry lawsuit that holds the DHS liable for assault as an unreasonable response to free speech. Instead, this admin is daring every citizen to put themselves in a position of being assaulted with impunity for merely existing. I'm sickened anew.

I love BuyNothing as much as the next person but I have questions about this sextet giveaway

For those who've followed my Intellivision Amico coverage, should I buy and review this trifecta of upcoming Switch games on June 19? I can't believe they're launching as a simul-trio... and under the moniker Happy Home Games? lol (if this post makes no sense to you, you're better off...)

man we could've had Sonic the Hedgehog and Boomer the Bottom

The only way this gets undone—and it's entirely doable—is if BuyNothing and other major local-group collectives bail on FB en masse and switch platforms in response. Solnit's pull among certain online audiences could make it happen. I'm already getting texts from distraught friends.

Just saw the Brian Wilson news. I urge anyone who has never really sat with Pet Sounds to do so today if possible, or even the restored version of SMiLE from 2011. As something completely different, enjoy this gem from the legendary, underappreciated rock band Hogpig out of Denton, TX.

two takeaways from my newest Switch 2 article: 1) Switch 2 desperately needs a 3DS-like "native" resolution toggle. Hold a button, start a game, and it plays in original 720p. Without that, some handheld games just ain't it. 2) Older game publishers have a very limited time window to strike...

Hi, I'm in @gamesradarplus.bsky.social today, diving into the confusing but also interesting world of Switch 1 games as played on Switch 2.

a video game so good, it doesn't *need* a digital download code

hi from the REAL summer games fest... the NW Pinball & Arcade Show in Tacoma, WA

wake up to these big brown eyes

My 16yo nephew is in town and got to watch The Phoenician Scheme while sitting next to Vern at SIFF-arama tonight. All 16-year-olds should be so lucky. (Also, I very much agree with V's take.)
