I’m so worried for the people on these flights 😔 where will they go when sent back? I’ve heard theories they’ll end up in private prisons (once the detention centers overflow) and be used for prison/indentured labor as a way to keep industries from collapsing without them.
I’m terrified.

And the strength of unions

Please also keep in mind it could possibly just be a great distracter. We’ll never know, and it’s doing its job if it’s the only thing we can talk about.
Real, dangerous stuff is happening every day. Let’s put pressure on that, keep our kids and loved ones safe.

My only point being, it’s never just one thing. It’s all nuanced and fractured. And the more energy we waste on pigeonholing a cause, the less we have to spend on being part of the resistance.
This is unfortunately where we’re at now.

I’ve read it, you’re not incorrect. It what is also being studied (or I should say was- because who knows what’s going happen now) is the anomaly that was 2016. There were plenty of centrists that were anti-GW who aligned on the left to get Obama in, but thought Trump was a “breath of fresh air”.

You do it just like Kamala did, she was close, so close, despite the lies. His victory was razor thin.
I hope dems bring a strong, young, leader to the forefront for 2028.

It’s horrific. Truly.
And the real ICE raids have started and are equally as horrific. I’ve seen that they’ve removed lawyer access to the detention centers. 😔

We’re thankful to the international communities who are pushing back and make it harder for him. We see you, we appreciate you.

We’re trying our best from the inside.
It’s going to be a long, hard journey but we’re keeping our voices loud, our eyes open, and ears listening to the organizations here that can help correct course - or at least shut down most of his vile plans.

From what I was following it was a representative from the district that broke the story, so they have made inadvertently said “ICE credentials” instead of “credentials”.
I doubt we’ll get more clarification on the matter, but I could see how the confusion may have happened innocently.

There may have just been confusion/panic by the school admins. Everyone was preparing for ICE raids and then a bunch of black SUVs roll up. I guarantee these poor school administrators were terrified.

It’s all over online. The story broke yesterday. You can find it on CBS News Chicago, and MSNBC just to name a few.

And Ohio (I believe) congressman has already submitted a bill to get Trump a 3rd term, and wrote it in such a way that ensures the same wouldn’t apply to Obama.

That is Mary’s point, I believe.
There is this fallacy that he won the mandate, etc.
It was one of the craziest elections (and most suspect) that we’ve had in the history of the United States. The margins are razor thing and we need to keep repeating that. Hit him where it hurts, his ego.

Responsible, absolutely.
But saying they “love Trump” is another thing.
We’ll never know why they didn’t vote, but have to assume with that many people it was a myriad of reasons, none of which would be a love of that guy. If they loved him, they would have crawled over broken glass to vote.

Yikes. The Navajo nation is the largest tribe in the county. They span parts of Arizona, Colorado, California, New Mexico and Utah.

wouldn’t this data need to be based on a congress that actually represents their constituents?
With all of the gerrymandering we see in the US, we know for certain that there are a lot of voting districts that have reps that don’t represent their wants.

I found a thumbnail of the photo on a Meidas article. It’s hard to tell due to the cropping, but she doesn’t appear to be leaning.

I agree, actually. the woman and man in the photo behind him also appear to be leaning.
@meidastouch.bsky.social can you please confirm the source of the photo so we know if it can be trusted.

You aren’t going to find that information, unless it’s leaked.
Your best bet is to lean on hypotheticals, and educate those around you on their rights. As the DOJ has just removed all “know your rights” presentation at the ICE detention centers.

The only people who can confirm for sure are going to be people familiar with how these organization work, and willing to come forward publicly to disclose.

I don’t know this for fact as I don’t work for DoE or ICE, but it’s the first logical assumption as to how they’re organizing, at lest against schools.
Business are private entities and wouldn’t fall under this.

I gave you the answer. It’s publicly available information that schools report to the federal government for funding, it’s all right in front of them already.
I’ve heard there are raids going on in Jersey, I’m trying to see which schools so we can all get more pieces to the puzzle

This is the issue with these polls, and even the polls leading up to elections.
From my understanding, they’re typically surveys conducted BY PHONE, in the middle of the work day.
Who do we think is available to chat during those hours? 🤣

It’s 90% Latino enrollment, it’s a public school. enrollment percentages are publicly announced and reported to the dept of education for funding purposes.

His “border czar” said why in a live interview, let me see if I can find it, but essentially TL;DR if you detain the kids, you flush out the parents and deport the whole family.
comment in response to

Parents have been sending them to school with them, and providing them to the front offices, for fear of this exact thing happening. At least where I live.
It’s horrifying.

I watched over 600 comments by Americans over on a Rednote post confuse “net worth” for “income”.
It’s becoming glaringly obviously that we need to do away with the details and find catch phrases that help people understand concepts only at the highest level.
