Most people do less than 50%. Don't worry about it. 🤷‍♂️

Our house has four bedrooms, but only one bed. It sends the desired message to would-be visitors. Also, if we're not expecting you, don't expect us to answer the door. 🤷‍♂️

Good job everyone who uses studded tires still has them on. 🙄

[2/2] didn’t get my meal comped, or a discount, or a free dessert. Not even a visit from the manager. Won’t be going there again.

He was probably too busy with his pub.

I should have given this more thought before posting... this one was waiting - "Right wing nut blames unpopularity on someone else."

Looks about right for him.

Yes, I bought a coffee roaster about 2.5 years ago, and I've been roasting my own ever since. It's paid for itself already, since I pay just over half for green beans as I would for the same beans roasted. About $12/pound. Colombian would be about $10/pound.

I buy my (green) beans from idrinkcoffee.com in Ontario. They get most of their beans from a US distributor. Even if the US was bypassed, the cost would probably be as high as with tariffs, due to scale. But that might provide some stability to pricing. Bean prices are all over the place anyway.

I guess small is relative. It's relatively similar in width and height as my old machine. The drip tray weighs about the same as my entire old espresso machine.

Not a five pack. Part of me is disappointed.

If it tastes like shit, the problem is the beans or the barista.

I had one of those. First six years of his life were an absolute disaster. After he came to us, it took a couple of years for him to get over being terrified of everything, but he ended up master of the house. I was so proud of him. No longer with us sadly. Thanks for being a rescuer.

He looks quite worried about it.

Seems to be a deliberate lack of detail in the story, which calls its integrity into question. I'm not saying the gist of it isn't true, but if it is true, it could have been written in a way that does not leave the gap in detail up to the reader's imagination.

Sounds like a win-win to me.

Who do you know? I mean, give us a starting point at least.

I don't think we can afford to do away with it completely, but we can remove it for transport trucks, to make interprovincial trade a bit cheaper.

My thoughts too. Makes me nervous to see things like this because it encourages people not to get out from the comfort of their armchairs.

I’d feel A LOT more confident if the Liberals had bigger signs on street corners. They look sad compared to the cons and NDP.

Lost the Plot seems more appropriate.

If it doesn't sell, it'll probably go to a gas station.

They only use the nickname "five eyes" because it has a better ring to it than "5 million eyes".

You should have no problem with a straight espresso. Just be warned, its a very small drink, with about the same caffeine as a regular sized cup of coffee. It's used as a base for many drinks (decent guide here www.acouplecooks.com/espresso-dri... which gives some names you might see on a menu).

(2/2) - its very thick, smooth and decadent - kind of like a dessert. It has no acidity (you might therefore find it doesn't have enough bite for you), so it doesn't make me jittery or give me gut rot. It's the only coffee I can drink black with no sweetener. Doesn't need it. 👨‍🍳💋

I started roasting in 2022 - a time when it was difficult to get fresh beans locally. After trying tons of different origin beans, I found one that is perfect for me (Indian Malabar), and I set about creating a recipe using the coffee roaster I have. I create a medium dark roast with it. (1/2)
