though in the other hand i feel like its a lot more self indulgent, which im really shy to show

Its less so of a sculpture-plushified but more the fact that they're using the same model. Altough the plush has more stuffing added for a rounder & different silhouette, its something that im iffy abt bc it borderlines challenges the philosophy i want to have with the chara
comment in response to post
Theres a few more like the plush or ash bone ones, but im on the fence about them because they use the sculpture form as a base

omg i didnt expect someone to make a chara out of the mod!! im glad it happened

Apologies... if its of any help then you can probably check Senty's bee model? It uses the same technique and its setup for blender and unity You can find it for free in their patreon page

There were quite a few extra steps i had to take for the unity setup given the visor also needs to be stenciled in the face, but remain in front of the eyes and head. While also having a different color behind
comment in response to post
For cycles im pretty sure you can get away with something funky with the light ray node For unity im doing stencils, on the replies theres a video where i show a dissected frame, more or less gives you an idea how it works

The setup for each render engine varies, for eevee im taking advantage of material render order, eg, transparent materials will render on top of eachother, at the same time, if theres an opaque material in front of it then it will write to depth and instead it will draw whatever is closer

ahh okay, I was avoiding spitting out something like that because I think I would have torned down practically all the options "just dont use all brushes lmao" "pixel/binary pencil only"
comment in response to post
You have a super wide technical range, its hard to pinpoint it to the use of a certain brush or the like. At the same time these things im mentioning are my main hook with you

oh okay, lets see Rubber or plush subject Pear shaped, chubby bodies Psychedelic abstract backgrounds and usage of colors And general themes of peace Shading seems to always be textured or have a pattern of sorts (Including rake-like scribbling)

oh beatiful piece!! very pretty

as for the shader itself, im abusing the hell out of a parallax setup The reflections are done with (view ∘ normals) and a scrolling texture in a second set of uvs. Its not real reflections but its REALLY reliable since I get control of where its coming from viewspace
comment in response to post
Whats going on instead is that im flattening the sides manually then putting it through several modifiers to change the normals and or simplifying it in different ways (plus the added solidify modifier on top) Its tough to box model crystals...
comment in response to post
I really your usage of the pallete here, it feels very welcoming and organic because of all of the round shapes!!
