So sorry that happened to you. Most of the calls I used to get were published authors frustrated by the lack of marketing resources they received. Publishers always turn it around on the authors and ask “what are you going to do to market it?”

I’ll join the fight! I’m a former book publicist and my number 1 piece of advice for anyone hybrid or trad publishing is to understand very specifically what marketing is included.

PR efforts/results must be bleak for the book launch if they keep having to go back to CNN for coverage. Repeatedly picking the low hanging fruit for coverage is doing more harm.
