Friends of ours are officially moving to the Netherlands because they have a young trans daughter. Terrible they have to move, but good on them for not taking any chances and protecting their kid.

Now I just need to decide where to hang it.

I also try to explain that we as people read, interact with, and enjoy plenty of content by deeply problematic dead authors and artists. The difference here is that she has publicly said that she sees people continuing to purchase her content as direct support of her ideology.

What I always tell friends with kids is that if it's important for them to share the books with their kids they need to do two things 1) buy them second hand and 2) use them as a jumping off point for some difficult conversations. I’d prefer they go w/other books, but if they must.

Now I'm super curious what book 😂

I generally disagree as well. That said, if we lived in a country where it was economically viable for most families to have one parent to stay home with the kids, if that was what they wanted, I think we'd overall be better off as a country. But of course, that's not what they want.

He was an aggressive stray terrorizing the neighborhood in the name of the fire nation and then in 2020 we were home enough to earn his trust. We named him Zuko because just like his namesake he just needed some love and understanding, he’s a big softie.

Yeah, I either usually put down a bunch or treats or have my partner hold a churu for him while I get a quick brush in. He’s a very good boy, but will only let us for brief sessions with bribes 😂♥️

This guy is also opposed to the brush, but he’s currently got a bunch of little spring time mats and I’m gonna have to insist soon. His name is Zuko.

absolutely shrieking at the thought of the Catholic US Supreme Court justices having to decide what the fuck to do with a Catholic plaintiff who says it’s religious discrimination to be forced by their employer to use AI

YES! We have cats now and I grew up with dogs, you go to the vet IMMEDIATELY!

Part of me was SURE this wasn't the kind of show that would hurt a Corgi who's sweet little face we'd looked directly into, but I wasn't sure enough for it to not stress me out. If there's a dog or a cat I NEED it to be okay and will be highly distracted if there's even a chance it won't be.

They are keeping the Falvey Building, but it will no longer be the library. The library will be in the place of the bookstore (which they demolished last summer), right to Connelly.

Honestly the way they’re building on campus right now it won’t be long. I think the new library opening in 2027 already has a name though.
