He received ongoing communications from the Immigration service saying his naturalization process was on track. Didn't call out a missing document. Our taxes pay to arrest and imprison and feed this man bc of one missing form. This serves America? And if his family has to go on welfare? WTF?

I mean - you can advocate with your state legislature not to have property taxes in your state, but they'll raise your income taxes instead. Or other taxes. You do realize taxes pay for all municipal services, schools, roads, first responders, etc.

Do troops eat? Do they need buildings and building services? Do they need medical and mental health care? Do they need to communicate securely? Do they need to order supplies?
It's so clear how many people in the Trump admin have never worked normal jobs. Even in just a restaurant.

100% dumb. Also what violence and vandalism? Over 1000 protests and so far I have not heard a single story about violence or vandalism

It’s worth listening to. She’s so good that at one point I paused the audio to consider if there were multiple readers playing the multiple characters in a scene. But it was just the one reader

I love this book. So freaking funny. I listened to the audiobook when I was feeling unhinged during Covid lockdown. The narrator for this audiobook is one of the best I’ve ever heard. It’s like listening to a radio play.

I saw a post from a reporter who asked a higher ranking officer why there were so few cops. He said they were not expecting the crowds that large and he only had 44 officers and then he added that the crowd was great and there were no problems

A strip mall with a Walmart and a Tesla dealership. And then the broligarchs in gigantic land spreads with their underground bunkers to hide from the woke mobs.

The most successful cities/cultures in history have been the ones with trade and cross-cultural exchanges. Period.

Except only the most plugged-in people even know what he's doing. I think barely half of Americans even know what Trump/Musk have done in the past 2 months

They're weaponizing antisemitism to do their dirty business and then at some point this will all come back to blaming the Jews. This is a shitty situation for American Jews.

They can lie all they want about paid protestors but there's no hiding the enormous drop is Tesla sales or stocks. Is Soros paying people NOT to buy Teslas? 🙄

When I enrolled in grad school during the pandemic I was required to show vaccination records. I was born in the 1960s. My Dr. wouldn’t sign off on my MMR being up-to-date so I had a blood test and it turned out I did NOT have antibodies for measles. I got a booster. No biggie.

Yeah with so many mysteries, you have to reveal at least partial answers. And all we know is that Gemma is alive and Cobel invented severance. We don’t know what refining actually is. We don’t know why we should care. Or why cold Harbor matters. We have better find out next week.

You know where else we drew "artificial lines"? AROUND EVERY SINGLE STATE.
Let's make the entire south one big state with only 2 Senators and then divide up California into 4 states, each with 2 Senators.
Let's draw a vertical line through every state and make ONE HUNDRED states.

Top notch community reporting: always carry an umbrella for use as "a shield, if necessary," (so presumably a large one, not one of those puny Totes that the turkeys would only use as a toothpick after eating you)

So true. And as the daughter of two Holocaust survivors, I’d say families who escaped authoritarian governments maybe appreciate liberty more than some native-born Americans.

I'm American and I'm appalled and furious. I was reading in Reddit that some vacationing Canadians were planning on RVing in the US for months but kept getting Americans joking at them about the 51st State. Like it's hilarious to talk about being invaded. They went home.

As a Jew I feel safest in a country that favors laws, not authoritarian whims. The Jews who are supporting this 1) don't truly believe in democracy and 2) have no imagination. What if the Israelis elect a Labor PM who battles w/Trump? Would Trump then revoke the visas/green cards of Israelis?

Assuming there would be no anti-discrimination laws, no workers’ rights. What about environmental pollution or genetically altered biological elements that “escape” the freedom cities?

As a woman, watching the incompetence of all these arrogant misfit men appointed under the mandate of "meritocracy" is enraging but, more so, predictable. So predictable. Do we ever get these fuckers out of our lives? Our political lives? Our working lives? Our personal lives?

If New York City can’t come up with a better candidate than Cuomo, we are cooked. It is not politically hilarious that a sexual harasser who then used his money and power to harass his accusers is not the party’s or the people’s first choice. Get a grip.

It's disorienting to be cheering so hard against my own country. My parents came here in the 1940s as refugees. I love America. But this . . . ? A disgrace.

Sure OK. Trump & Co are in the pocket of Putin. But taking down electric grid or banking system will will be blamed 100% on Republicans and business leaders will throw a fit.
