When I'm not thinking about it, I'm brilliant at pool. Trouble is, it usually lasts for about four shots.

Fair enough. It was actually a joke, but Reach Plc are essentially doing to UK newspapers what Sinclair Media are doing to regional media in the US.

Is that the only UK regional newspaper not run by Reach Media? I was attracted by not having to click past a video seconds after opening.

That's very mean, and doesn't take into account that every journey is individual. I had a similar experience early on - even now I find that getting emails and trans legal advice is about asking on the right forum when people are reading it, when it should be documented and available to everyone.

And also loans were cheap, so Blair could promise and actually deliver massive infrastructure investment. Kinnock and Starmer both led or lead in hard times. It's still hard to see how this government could do worse, with the exception that Starmer has been good on Ukraine.

My relative has a bear called Stanley Bear. Maybe he should write a book called 'Doppelganger'?

If they haven't, they need to, because reaction to the Switch 2 isn't Wii-U bad, but I'm not sure who they thought could afford it in a cost-of-living crisis...

And all the EU member states with PR voting are resisting the rightward shift? FPTP rewards failure and intransigence, but it's not why we have Farage in Parliament - it's why he wasn't there 20 years ago. New parties have more chance in PR, but at the moment they're more likely to be conservative.

Would you rather Reform got five seats, or 135?

And yet FPTP is what stopped an actual fascist party - Reform UK - from being the second largest party after the last election. It's not perfect, but then proportional representation is how the far right rise quickly to power in Italy and Germany, so maybe there is no perfect electoral system.

The other side of it is disengaging from people who appreciate me, but can't get along with the trans stuff, still makes the process of transition feel like something I should feel inherently guilty or selfish about. I wish I could stop myself feeling that.

And is it just me, or has Disney+ made it appreciably more risk-averse and cutesy? Doctor Who didn't used to be either of those.
