This profile in courage had to have bladder surgery yesterday for a stone. She spent overnight at the hospital, and just came home … with a bandage where her IV was inserted.

The puzzle table at my HS library was always popular. Kids who might not normally engage with each other cooperated to connect pieces. Even those who were just walking by would linger a while to find a piece. It was a joy to watch.

Hey, P’Town, “The Librarians” is coming! “The Librarians” is coming! June 12 & 13. @thelibrariansfilm.bsky.social. Info & tix: provincetownfilm.org/films/the-librarians

Love this description: “an army of gullible smooth-brains: remorseless, hateful fools who will agree to any amount of cruelty as long as it’s inflicted on people they see as lower than they are—usually brown people who speak a different language.” It’s the same gang that’s trying to ban books.

Trump is closing a major airport to accommodate a military parade for his birthday – the parade is estimated to cost as much as $45 million. This coming from the president who said little girls are fine with 2 dolls not 30. www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...

Hey, Usha, here’s my reading log!

Bronzer McBonespurs Beaten Badly by Bumpmeister Bronaparte in round one. Are you going to take that lying down, Chicken TACO Caligula?

The blueprint. The Petri dish. The Guinea pig. Call it what you will, but Florida has been the testing ground for book banning since 2021. The removal of 55 books and the forced review of 500+ more in Hillsborough County schools is a sledgehammer that book banners will export across the country.

“Distort facts, intimidate, & inflict pain upon others.” If you boil the book banning playbook down to its essence, those are the fundamentals. This isn’t just a Louisiana story, if you’re like me, you’ll easily identify the parallels in your own community (lookin’ at you NJ Project & NJ Schools).

I made this Pride flag using only NASA images and our team thought it would be cool to share on social (I work on the NASA heliophysics communications team), but it's getting all sorts of hate on the bird app and Fbook. Thought y'all might be more appreciative of it here. ☺️🏳️‍🌈💖

My plea to parents is to take your children to libraries as much as your complicated parenting schedule can possibly allow. Help your children understand that this resource belongs to them and to the community, and that anyone attempting to take it away is stealing from them.

I love my detail-oriented senator Andy Kim! @kim.senate.gov

We were talking to @maggietokudahall.bsky.social and @heykellyjensen.bsky.social about book bans and they had not heard "Smut" by Tom Lehrer. This must be remedied: www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaHD...
