The Warriors need to finish at least 20-11 to get the 6 seed. Possible, but not likely.

Another interesting thing is that the Warriors have NO players in their prime. Just a bunch of old guys and young guys. Long live the two time lines.

I feel this is a good playoff team. But I’m not sure they can get to the playoffs with the limited availability of 3 older players. They will be financially restricted for the next two years. They’re really going to need the young players to step up. Butler should help them close games.

I have 2 questions. Would Jimmy Butler still want to go to Phoenix if Durant wasn’t there? Why aren’t the Warriors pursuing Devon Booker? He’s in his prime and Kerr prioritized playing him over others in the Olympics.

I’m still of the opinion that no currently discussed trade will lead to a chip. The team needs 2 all star players in their prime. The big issue is Steph’s salary. Until he retires, gets traded, or takes a pay cut the Warriors will remain a mediocre team with highs and lows like this year.

I read yesterday that in 2020 the Warriors turned down an opportunity to trade a couple draft picks (including their #2) for Jrue Holiday who was on the Pelicans. Of course he has since helped two different teams win chips. Wouldn’t he have been (and still would be) great on the Warriors !?!?!

Michigan defensive line pressured the OSU quarterback. Michigan defensive backs covered the OSU receivers. OSU coaches lost confidence in their quarterback and receivers and gave up on the passing game. Michigan stayed close and won in clutch time at the end.

On your show today you were discussing Steph’s salary. IMHO…. He is worth the money for his value as a “draw”. Fans love to come see him play. But his salary is too much given his on court production. With Steph making $60 million there is NO move that the Warriors can make to win a chip.

In your broadcast today Shasky raised the question of regrets. The Warriors should NOT have drafted players that required development. They should have traded the 3 picks (AW, JK, MM) for an all star in his prime. Draymond should have been punished and traded right after the punch.

I’m listening to your broadcast today reflecting on Kerr’s comments. You can’t have it both ways. The team can’t go all in to get a chip now AND give the youngsters more playing time. It’ll be the youngsters that get traded. It sounds like the team is gonna stand pat until Curry retires.

24 and 24. Which means right where they are now between 9 - 12

Bonta. I agree with you that OKC won’t give up good players but they might give up picks. I also like the idea of trading Draymond to Detroit for picks.

Or how about trading Draymond to Detroit for picks
comment in response to post
On your show this morning you were negative about a callers’ idea of trading Draymond to OKC for a current player. I’m for a trade to OKC because I think what they could get back from OKC for Draymond are picks. And picks will be important to trade for an all star next summer.

To clarify my premise in my earlier reply. Steph can’t carry the team. He can be great in bursts. But as long as he’s making 60+ million a year there is nothing! you can do to build a championship team. So you either have to trade Steph, or reduce his salary, or just enjoy the present team.

My proposed solution: A chip ain’t gonna happen so let the season play out. In the off season Steph must renegotiate his contract to a vet minimum. Lacob can make it up to him some way. Then the Warriors must trade for and/or find TWO all stars in their prime.

Well at least the Lions / Vikings game is worth watching

The Warriors can only get a superstar via trade if they can match his salary. Draymond + Looney + Anderson + Payton might get you there but who would want them? Could Steph agree to renegotiate to a vet minimum?? 😳 And please, only trade for a player in his prime, not another older player.

The odds are greater that they go 0 for 3 than they win 2 of 3 (which they’d have to do to be above .500).

And I initially thought you were commenting on the Warriors. Just as representative of their season.

Low turnovers. But, interestingly, low assists also. A lot of isolation ball. I’m not sure I like that long term but it was needed tonight

JK will rightly get a lot of props, but Wiggs carried them at times. .500 for December would be ok

No Steph. No Draymond. Only 10 turnovers.

Can the Warriors trade Melton and Payton for a clutch shooter in his prime? I don’t know who that would be nor if it would be enough. The young players will not be championship ready for several more years. By then Steph will be gone. So I would include JK in the above trade if needed.

The Warriors are in a tough spot. Steph can still be a hero in a close out playoff game but can’t be counted on for heroics every night during the regular season (like Jokic just did). Draymond will only occasionally contribute. Can the rest of the team get them to a 6 seed? I’m not sure.

If you’re not going to pay Purdy you need to have a replacement. Who??? Trade? Draft? Can you trade all the older players for young versions? ND coach being considered by Bears. My guess is he stays at ND.

I think the first 15 are as valid as the last 4. The regular season goal should be a top 6 seed with a fresh Steph. They are on that pace. But there are some disturbing trends. Not good point of attack defense. Not a good second clutch scorer. Difficulty against athletic young bigs.
