No lie, I thought the songwriter loved The Beach Boys.

Rogue made a few appearances in the Dazzler solo, well before either one were X-Men. The fact Rogue tried to kill Alison a time or two was a bit of an issue when they become teammates.

I can feel the back pain through the photo! I remember the doctor thought my wife might be pregnant with twins. Turned out no, just one big baby! 8lbs, 15oz. (I should call her today). Happy birthday to your baby love!

Trump’s statement is true, regardless of the facts. He will blame democrats, and a large portion of his followers will believe him.

Bessent is happy because shortages will mean he can get the famine under way. He’s gotta keep up with pestilence (RFKjr) and war (Hegseth).

Not working in a factory will be illegal. You’ll be put in prison, then be forced to work. In a factory.

My daughter said so far it’s Amercorps NCCC (she was involved with Americorps State and National) but won’t be surprised if they go gunning for the whole thing.

This is such a shame. My daughter did a year of Americorps service after college, in Kensington (Philly). She loved those kids, and her service helped pay for college.

Improve a first line by substituting Mrs. Dalloway. In the beginning Mrs. Dalloway created the heavens and the earth.

The customer was descriptive enough about the attack, but then she offered to show me pictures. I had to politely decline. Like, it sounds horrible enough, I don’t need the visuals.

Wow. Somehow she manages to look like both Sonny and Cher!

I’ve had frog before, in Philly Chinatown. Not bad, just have to be careful of the bones. Did you buy any of those? (I’ll assume yes for the ice cream.)

The Borowitz Report is a satire site. I know, I know, it’s hard to tell these days…

I truly feel war has been declared. The American government is trying to kill its own citizens.

If I ever need to temper my language, “sable shards!” may become part of my vocabulary.

FYI there’s an Excalibur issue by issue podcast by this name. Never listened to it myself. (I’m not enough of an Excalibur fan. I liked Claremont, Davis, and Ellis’ runs; everything else is trash IMO)

Bird-Boy and Gossamyr break the goofy-meter for me. It was around this time I decided I didn’t need to be a completist and dropped the book. Are you reviewing these anywhere or just posting to Bsky? I love a good retro-review site. (Plug for @uncannyxcerpts.bsky.social )!

Bret Blevins is a very accomplished artist, with a career in comics and doing storyboards for movies to be proud of. That said, I didn’t care for his New Mutants run. I’m not a fan of Weezie’s writing either. The NMs were way too juvenile.

Who would win in a fight between Jabberjaw and Squiddly Diddly? The world has been waiting for the answer since the 70s

This is the way it’s *supposed* to work. Unfortunately, today’s reality is: Step one: Trump does what he wants Step two: nobody stops him If the system worked like it was supposed to, the mf-er would be in prison, not the Oval Office.
