If there are 1000 good cops not stopping the one bad cop from doing bad things when they see it you have 1001 bad cops.

What exactly is the reason behind / justification for the 2nd amendment again? Asking for a friend

peertube.heise.de/w/9gfnvuokRd... Ganz interessant 👍

Nenn mich Crisu 😉

My Laptop and PC are running it. Gaming, 3D design, coding, video editing and so on (lxc-container, docker, apache & mysql, building firmware for router....) is what I'm doing on it. Only problem I encountered (yet): The damn 80 button limit for joysticks. But that's on the kernel not Mint.

can only second Linux Mint. Its an "old" distribution (18+ years) with a huge user base. So many problems which popped up over the years were mitigated/solved.

You take the Tupperware Banana case and fill it with construction foam. Analog to how America is producing cheese. Greetings from Europe

47 years..... It took me 47 years to understand why the second amendment is so crucial....

Are you still on Twitter? If so, could you please check if this one is also not a fake?

Mint (not LMDE) uses Debian and Ubuntu package repos. With the native steam client I have had no problems to play my windows games (yet, with one exception DCS, but there the 80 button limit for a single joystick is my problem)

Thinking works differently there..... can be substituted by a lot of Vodka.....

Glad to hear that 👍

If the NAS offers NFS (most do), its a sexy and fast method. One entry in /etc/exports to create the share you can mount within your network.

It took my almost 48 years to understand why the 2nd amendment is so crucial to the US....

Ask yourself: Who had Access?

That's the spirit. Tbh. The first 20 years of using linux I only logged in as root and if necessary switched to a non administrative user using su. 😜

For the first part there's luckily "shut up - do obey" - short sudo :)

SpaceX could only do that because NASA has burdened the scientific base load.

Thats the easiest solution. But installing linux became much easier. Try a live USB system which doesnt change your computer. If you like it, boot to Windows make a backup of your data, reboot from USB into the live system and you can install from there (normally a shortcut in the desktop).
comment in response to post
Switched me and my OH to linux last year. She only used Windows (and MSDos) before and is quite happy with Linux Mint. With a live USB stick you can try it out without changing your windows installation.

Sounds like you haven't used it for some time. As Windows changed (explorer - right click - copy / paste hidden in sub menu) over the years, so have the linux distributions.
comment in response to post
Windows is only intuitive for you since you know and use it for a long time. But yes, many people haven't use cli. My OH for example hasn't used it since DOS times. And even now after over a year of using Mint on a daily base her .bash_history is completely empty.

Are you a long time into masochism or is that a new feature? 😉

With Mint installing Nvidia drivers is streight forward: Startmenu - Drivers - Select the one you like - click install. Afterwards (since we don't disable secure boot) enrolling the MOK key with "sudo update-secureboot-policy --enroll-key " and reboot.
