‘never looked back‘ I love a good espresso, but the trajectory of green tea is so much more effective when it comes to providing energy and freshness. Maybe go a couple of weeks w/o coffee, then try green tea again?

Did you try green tea? Caro and I switched from 4-5 espressos a day to two cups of matcha a good year ago and never looked bad. Now an espresso really knocks me out.

… early in May to move in my gear, fine-tune the acoustics and learn the new space. Please contact me at <studio at schwebung • com> if you have a project that needs to be finished in April or to book a session in May. Thanks, and see you there. /4.

with a dedicated high-end current supply. While reopening the new space today was a plan, there were delays. I decided to keep my trusted room for another month, until the end of April. I have a few slots for mastering projects available now until I have to close for a week … /3

Last December, it became clear that we had to leave our beloved flat after living there for 12 years. We finally signed a contract for a new apartment in February. We moved some days ago after a month of renovation and overseeing the construction of a new studio, a room-within-a-room construction /2

I would love to read it. Reinhold visited me while he was working on it, and we've been comparing mixes and releases of various electroacoustic pieces.

The Karl Record mixdown sets different priorities throughout most of the piece.

I haven’t visited the US since 2015, and I miss some friends and cities badly.

My broader point is to start a project at 96k and keep it there. Those screenshots are from files I bought, and it makes no sense to sell upsampled 44.1 or 48k audio because this only means larger files with plenty of digital emptiness.

The 80‘s, when all-in-one hifi kits had Rock, Pop, Classical, and Disco settings to choose from.

Hi Jos, yes, but I have yet to hear a master that sounds great on speakers that needs adjustment to be enjoyable on headphones. On the other hand, the “I only master on headphones“ work makes my monitors sound like giant headphones. The sound won't detach from the speakers.
comment in response to post
To put it another way – I've heard masters made on headphones that sound somewhat empty on speakers, while I have yet to hear a master that sounds great on speakers that would need adjustment to make it enjoyable on headphones.
comment in response to post
Without a doubt. However, I believe it needs a good room, converters, and monitors to address the stereo field adequately. I wouldn’t recommend building a mastering business based solely on headphones.
comment in response to post
My answer is Yes, you can master on headphones for headphones. I hear when a project was mixed on HPs, and if somebody specializes in mastering on HPs exclusively, I can hear that in my room, too. The audio is usually stuck to the speakers, and there is a lack of definition of the phantom center.

As a young improv student, I saw Barre Philips live in my hometown. He was solo, the audience a trio, and I asked myself: ”Why?”
