Some important EAA dates
Today: Any new or updated products and services must conform to EAA standards.
June 28, 2027: Emergency services must comply with EAA.
June 28, 2030: 5-year exception for products and services placed on the market before June 2025 needs to be brought into compliance.

5. If accessibility was just thought about in the conception of products we wouldn't need to slap the holy grail label on every technological advancement to make up for lack of integration.

most people are talking about generative models and that is only one area of AI (I'm guilty of doing this).
3. Non-gen AI is useful for accessibility tech and tools and currently being used in them (OCR on images being one)

That's why anyone pushing AI / LLMs in their current state as an end-all or be-all solution for digital accessibility is at best greatly naive.

My concession is putting one of the cat beds on my desk but it takes 7-8 times moving her there before she starts to nap. She has eaten, played for at least 45 minutes so this is all nervous energy from setting in as I've only had her for 6 days

It's not full proof but the more outlets are fully owner/op-ed led and editorial lack of (or not being able) opposition, it's absolutely necessary. It's not easy but better than harm caused by misinformation. I say this as someone who used to work in the journalism field. Taking in news almost 24/7
