I believe it's the Dunning–Kruger effect.

I have to give senator Hawley credit. I thought this bill was only done for political theatrics. It could be passed with Republicans in control of congress and the WH. And it absolutely should be passed. Better if it was amended to include the president and Supreme Court

It's not complicated. Bring back the 70% tax rate for income over $2.5M

Pittsburgh is the best at coordinating colors. Steelers, Pirates, Penguins all black and gold.

OK... Why?
comment in response to post
The tax rate changes in today's dollars would be for households earning over $2.5 M per year.

The Economic Recovery Tax Act of 1981 reduced the top tax rate from 70% to 50%. Later, the Tax Reform Act of 1986 further reduced the highest personal income tax rate from 50% to 38.5%, eventually decreasing to 28% in the following years.

Can you reference the sources of this information? I would like to share with my MAGA friends.

Those are one time costs. Versus ongoing costs of running the bases. Thanks for clarifying your statement.

Ok, I never stated that Trump had that right.

Exactly, so the chart in the original post states Europe has more soldiers, tanks, planes, etc., That seems dubious to me.

I wish you well and hope you provide all the aid that Ukraine needs to push Russia back to their boarders. My original question was what is the source of this data. I am skeptical about the numbers.

Stock market back in the red tomorrow.

By all means. Please have Europe fund its defense both on the continent and its interests globally.
comment in response to post
So you agree that Europe hasn't lived up to its defense commitment.
comment in response to post
fight Europe for Trump? I don't understand your point. My point is that Europe for decades has not funded their defense per their agreement as NATO members. This is a simple fact.
comment in response to post
Not to be a smart ass, but when has Europe been able to handle their own security? WWI and WWII required US intervention. You don't have a data point in the last 100 years to support your assertion.
comment in response to post
Closing the bases will cost more money? This seems counterintuitive.
comment in response to post
For years, European countries have spent well below the 2% of GDP agreement. I'm no MAGA, but it's about time Europe started living up to their commitments.
comment in response to post
I've seen this before. What is the source of this data? And, if this is true, why does the US have such a huge military presence in Europe? Shouldn't Europe be able to handle their own security?

What is the brand that you think democrats have right now?
comment in response to post
But they won't. Democrats lack a coherent communication strategy.

Lunacy is not strong enough to describe this statement.

Overall, rather than reviving the economy, the tariffs deepened the Great Depression by reducing international trade and worsening economic conditions both in the U.S. and abroad.

4. Higher Prices for Consumers – The tariffs increased prices on imported goods, making everyday items more expensive for American consumers.
comment in response to post
3. Job Losses – While the tariff was meant to protect American jobs, it actually contributed to higher unemployment as businesses that depended on exports suffered.
comment in response to post
2. Decline in Trade – Global trade dropped significantly, worsening the Great Depression. U.S. exports fell by more than 60% between 1929 and 1933.
comment in response to post
1. Retaliatory Tariffs – Other countries imposed their own tariffs in response, reducing U.S. exports. This hurt American farmers and manufacturers who relied on global markets.
comment in response to post
That makes sense. Ukraine should cede the Kursk region and Russian should cede Donbas and Crimea.
comment in response to post
What tariffs do Mexico and Canada have in place that justifies a 25% tariff on all imports?
comment in response to post
Yes, why is that? Are they all afraid of Trump's tweets?
comment in response to post
Something like... I'm sorry that Trump and Vance are Puppets of Putin?
