As hundreds of thousands pour out across the country and the world to say #NoKings - DC looks like a ghost town. 😬

Doesn't seem like 35 years ago that this dropped... yet here we are youtu.be/O3pyCGnZzYA?...

Do you live near or travel through the Hydrostone area? The municipality is looking for residents’ feedback on the concept design for Isleville Street intersections upgrades. Learn more about upcoming engagement sessions and complete online survey at www.shapeyourcityhalifax.ca/isleville-in...

The bridge over Russell Burn (on the road to Applecross).

The subtext of the overwhelming majority of "I tried Bluesky and it was shit" articles is just "my principal interest in social media is people kissing my ass and Blueskiers won't kiss my ass."

Personally I don't think we should be interviewing Pierre Poilievre at all anymore unless he's wearing a giant flashing "VISITOR" sandwich board over his torso like he's doing an advertisement for Arby's

Between them, Brian Wilson and Sly Stone account for a hefty percentage of the greatest American songs of the greatest decade in popular music history. This week is a bit much on all counts

What they aren’t showing on Fox News

Failed Mayor Andy Fillmore loses again Morning File by @timbousquet.bsky.social

Here's my story on what happened at City Hall on Tuesday, from the rally at 8am, the vote at 7pm, and the scrum with reporters. I hope it captures the very long day (and weekend) most of us had. www.halifaxexaminer.ca/government/c...

There are so many things from our childhood that made us happy, that we unknowingly had to give up as we aged. Reclaiming some of that as an adult is so fucking awesome. Don’t ever apologize for doing childish things that make you happy.

So, it’s not because of the bike lane? /s

Land Rover and Jeep are the only car brands in the UK with average bonnet heights over 100cm. Land Rover is “trading on the intimidation that comes with high-fronted vehicles [and] ignoring their related dangers” - @dpcarrington.bsky.social reports 👇🚘 www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...

Bike lanes aren’t the cause of congestion anymore than tent encampments are the cause of homelessness. They are symptoms of larger issues, and removing them won’t solve those issues either.

God I love bluesky

I keep thinking about this & how rare it is for ppl in leadership positions, especially politicians, to acknowledge the efforts of subordinates. It's very clear from @lecwhite.bsky.social performance on council to date that she's not there for her ego & is putting in the work to do her best for D7.

Just waiting for the latest edition of Mayor Fillmore’s whinging from the car videos to drop

something to remember about Purdy & her emphasis on "experiences" is that she aligns with the increasingly anti-intellectual evangelicals. she doesn't care about informed, evidence-based discussion (even if it's qualitative research beased on a collection of lived-experience narratives).

I couldn't NOT do this.

yeah i love waymo, way mo immigrants coming to my city

Andy can claim anything but in NS the council holds the power

I was at the #BikeHfx rally this morning and all you need to make the point that bikes don't cause congestion is to watch hundreds of cyclists file out of there quickly and efficiently, and compare it to what happens after a Mooseheads game or a concert.

This. Is. OutSTANding.

“We found there’s this perfect one-to-one relationship. If a city increased its road capacity by 10% then driving in that city went up by 10%.” Still one of the best articles on why building bigger roads leads to more cars stuck in the same congestion. Understanding #InducedDemand Via @wired.com

Cape Breton: (slightly) ahead of its time. #AI 🤖

everyone who’s spent years stockpiling weapons and screeching about “tyranny” and “government overreach” sure is fucking quiet right now

day laborers who stand outside the Home Depot are the only men on this planet a woman alone will roll up to, invite to get in her car, tell them she has cash, and drive them to her house, feeling perfectly safe the entire time, and LA is never ever gonna let Feds fuck with them
