That’s good to know. I’ve enjoyed a lot of the FPs content and they are rated as a highly factual news source, albeit slightly right leaning. But seeing these agenda-based investors is cause for concern for sure. Thanks

100%! Great to see a nice response! Thank you.

Good discussion. To be clear, I actually am not a Trump fan and did not vote for him. I did not vote for Harris either. My point is that there are a lot of common sense thinkers that don’t think US politics is the end-all-be-all of life, but enjoy debating important issues respectfully.

Well that doesn’t help at all. Each side continuing to type things like this is why X and Bluesky end up as echo chambers for far wings of the political spectrum.

I’m seeing it here. I’ve been called idiot and “Trumper” and “go back to X clown” just for respectively disagreeing with something.
If X is now for the far right, and Bluesky is for the far left, where do sane people go? Starting to think the answer is nowhere. Just skip social media altogether.

You make a compelling argument. Staggering intellect. 🤦♂️

It’s worked out incredibly well for you. Wonderful proof that despite the start, the US more often than not is full of opportunity and an incredible ability to course correct and fix horrible mistakes and injustices. You, we, are so lucky to be here.

That’s funny, I’ll grant you that. Ha. But still I disagree that she’s a “sympathizer” by having a non war hawk position on these issues.

Maybe articulate a tad more. What Rogan said is right! Russia is clearly in the wrong, yet they have been restrained. This absolutely moronic decision to poke the bear with long range missiles is wrong. Rogan is right on this.

You really have become a version of what I thought you were against.

Sure… but again, not a traitor because her opinions don’t align with war hawks.

Cute image.

Yes, more fair. But too far still. Suggesting that NATO’s expansion was provocative to Russia, and factually discussing Ukrainian corruption, both reasonable points of views but against US policy - are not “bad” - less war would be good.

Yup. Seems about as much evidence there as the Covid lab leak theory… however, believing something wrong doesn’t make one a traitor does it?

Yikes. Seems like a winning approach.

Whoa whoa whoa… before moronic Musk took over Twit, it was super left wing. The VAST majority of the media is left wing. Some of us just want reason and logic in the middle and seeing another “wing” platform sucks.

Gotta do the random Costco run at like 11:19 AM on a Tuesday. Then it’s a dream. Ha.

People do realize that was never gonna happen right? Obviously I’d still take her campaign lies over Trump’s, but they were always just campaign B.S.

… that from The NY Times. So you can disagree with her all you want, but just blasting out that she’s a traitor is pathetic.

“No evidence has emerged that she has ever collaborated in any way with Russia’s intelligence agencies. Instead, according to analysts and former officials, Ms. Gabbard seems to simply share the Kremlin’s geopolitical views, especially when it comes to the exercise of American military power.”

Agreed. There’s just no evidence beyond her freedom of speech that includes saying things many aren’t comfortable with. That does not mean she’s a traitor.
comment in response to

As to then point - you are 100% correct there is no evidence against Gabbard. She has a different viewpoint from the established parties on foreign policy - you’d think left folks would actually agree with her! But because she switched parties she’s now “bad” and not worthy of an open mind.

This is the problem here in the new platform, Bluesky. It’s a new echo chamber so far. If you aren’t completely onboard with the far left talking points, you’re called “troll” etc…

Ah bummer. I hate to see this kind of stuff here already. I would focus on his poor ideas versus his physical appearance.

Therein lies the problem with free speech absolutists. They usually aren’t.
comment in response to

Yes. I only hope Bluesky doesn’t shift too far the other way. Just hoping for civility and different opinions - with respect. But I fear so many Bluesky users just want a new echo chamber.

Yes... but... having watched it, Paul 100% figured out early that Tyson should not be in there and held back the whole fight. Not great for the paying customers, but glad he didn't just tee off on Tyson. The pre-lim fights were fantastic.

I suspect there are plenty like me who are solidly in the middle of all of it and just looking for civility and common sense and middle ground. Just another echo chamber when it comes to politics will be a bummer.
comment in response to

I really hope this isn’t going to just be a one-sided (left) platform. That just keeps happening and it’s not useful.

Well we all have to protect our brains and not allow it all in. The allure of all this information - the fact we’re even in this app for instance - makes that harder, but the truth is everything is internal. Don’t let it all in.
