I remember in that where a Marine general colored in a tiny sliver and said “That’s about the size of Tarawa. Took a division of Marines a week to take that”

Bannon, who never got the Golden Perch in the first place, is the exception that proves the rule. Breitbart was enough for him.

Saw it today and found it delightful and touching. I loved the pace of the jokes near ZAZ level while keeping within story.
I’m so sorry for your recent loss .

Just completely nerfed by BOP. Shame they keep getting yanked around and can’t compete with a full Hypercar field.

Thing is, his first offer to people was very generous. If you’d refuse then, then his behavior would get problematic.

We have a 120lb Great Pyrenees, and having a huge dog distorts your perspective so much. You’ll see a 85lb Golden and be like “look at at that little guy!”
Training is an absolute must. They can cause so much destruction so quickly if uncontrolled.

My dad stopped at email. Never really had a smart phone. Mom is not tech savvy at all, and impossible to reach for non-family members (not easy for family to reach either). Blessing.

It’s not just increased chance of a terrible nightmare. It’s that there is zero recourse in that liminal zone, and the administration relishes using that power to the maximum extent possible. So the stakes are high for any visitor even if odds of worst-case may be low in absolute terms.

My niches are dying on twitter. There may be holdover/inertia but film bullshit and motorsports discourse is shrinking considerably over-there.

My guess is some people can handle spammed hate and noise, but directed/specific criticism from real people drives them crazy.

A great punt can fuck up the opponent in so many ways. Forces runs/short passes. Threatens a Safety, or can undo a heroic defensive series demoralizing the entire team.

Yeah. Ironically, a firehose of media works better than suppression. That’s a novel feature of 21st century authoritarianism.

Probably one the best (and efficient) translation of character from page to screen. Highlighted Jack’s rough brutish edges, while keeping Stephen’s cerebral side but skipping the espionage and laudanum addiction.

I've never found Target compelling. A price deadzone for me. Not cheap enough for basics, not quality enough for splurges.

She had a TV movie! It was awful, but still. WoF and Jeopardy had a public unlike any other gameshows. Stayed in their lane and timeslot. Didn’t try and become prime time shows.

I read “The Odessa Files” probably way too young. Couldn’t put it down. Blew away my 13yo mind. Such an efficient thriller.

Our school had a joke (with a large amount of truth to it) that everyone was a Jennifer from NJ. Looking at my age, the name part checks out.

I have to imagine the “don’t panic” time window has gotten super short since cell phones. Like my heart rate raises pretty quickly if they leave the phone at home and aren’t easily seen when I get to the park where they said they were going.

You’re absolutely right to call the essay ‘crazy.’ You provide a link to a deeply disturbing example of AI gone amok.
You’re right to call me out. I didn’t actually read it. All I can say is “I’m sorry.”
