“Rising levels of government debt” also means “falling levels of government revenue.” I’m sure a $5TR tax cut will resolve this. (Yes, snark.)

As a former waiter, “86” just meant when we ran out of an item on the menu. We’d be informed by the kitchen it was “86’d”. It was also a column on a whiteboard listing such things as the shift went on.

I believe it can be considered a gratuity.

Just a reminder that the Biden administration, led by Transport Sec Buttigieg, reopened the Port of Baltimore after the Key Bridge collapse & the PA I-95 highway overpass collapse in RECORD time & these MAGA jokers can’t even maintain the FAA.

Spoiler Alert: He’s not talking about waitstaff, he’s referring to the financial services industry & the SCOTUS decision in Snyder v U.S. that determined as long as a bribe is paid after an official act it is cleansed of any corruption and qualifies as a “gratuity.”

That’s a LOT of homework for this administration to manage. More judges should do this.

From this day fwd, Kramer v Kramer should always only be screened as a double feature with The Brood. 😂

Was it ever? Assuming by “unconditional support” you mean Zionism? In that case, even Israelis don’t “unconditionally support” Israel. The U.S. has always held that the only support for Israel is Zionism - but that’s not true in the rest of the world. Anti-Zionism is not anti-semitism.

“Which left them little time to do their CRT work…”

That’s likely a petulant Stephen Miller, I’d bet. Trump is already distancing himself from the final outcome.

It makes sense now why he was once married to Guilfoyle - two crass, blatant opportunists.

It’s like they’re trying to will their doom into existence just so they can say, “Toldya so.” As if being right in this instance is a priority over the collapse of our democratic society.

Using one of the most highly regarded, signature works of another artist, the late David Wojnarowicz, itself an appropriated image from a historical diorama, as the lead promotional image for your film seems pretty cheap. But certainly in keeping with Aster’s exploitative superficiality.

This is an authoritarian echo chamber, all of them going to bat for each other and ostensibly themselves, laying the groundwork for their future public defences.

This isn’t true. The 2024 election was lost to voter suppression, orchestrated in the state legislatures. Over 4M voters were suppressed, disenfranchised. Don’t spread dumb conspiracy theories when the effort we need to fight is right there.

Racism.

Erm, REALITY is going to auto debunk this.

This is making Liz Truss feel good about herself.

Are we supposed to trust their math, let alone their understanding of current trade policies…? Really? Have you been paying attention? These people can’t even spell, let alone use spellcheck.

Don’t know who he thinks he’s kidding - they’ve already lost the House.

Gawd, what an insufferable ego. Never heard of you, have gotten along just fine without you and will continue to do so.

Great. There is no justice system in the world that would’ve prosecuted Trump in less than 4 years. Not one. But keep talking nonsense if it makes you feel better.

This prosecution took the French courts 9 years and she still has a final appeal against the ban. This was long in the making prior to our 2016 election. Stop being so self-centred.

It took the French courts 9 years to complete this prosecution and she still has a final appeal. This didn’t happen overnight.
comment in response to post
Nine years, Lizz. This prosecution took the French courts over 9 years.
comment in response to post
For those just glancing at headlines, this prosecution took the French courts over 9 years. There is no such thing as “fast food” justice.

In what world could the charmless, anti-magnetic JD Vance win a Presidential election? I’d say that’s the 2nd biggest flaw in this plan, the 1st being, erm, our Constitution.

You’re certainly doing your best to will it into existence & disempower people. It’s like you’re doing the work for them.

All Trump did was insult the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson.

When the Secretary of Defence feels compelled to explain what their job is, it’s probably time to go.

It’s not like it’s valuable intelligence. I’m sure those now exempt from receiving it have better sources than she does.

I really cannot comprehend why these people have invested so much of themselves in Trump. Beyond all reason. It truly is a cult. #ETTD

Mate, you’re charging at windmills. Good luck.

Yeah, simmer down, don’t hurt yourself. All 8 GOP witnesses, former Trump admin officials, that were asked to testify to the DOJ, claimed “executive immunity”. It took 15 mths. to work through that appeals process. NOBODY could’ve changed that. I’m not defending anyone, I’m trying to inform you.

He’s the prosecutor, not the judiciary.
comment in response to post
Tell me you don’t know anything about the justice system without telling me you know nothing about the justice system.
comment in response to post
Well, you’re certainly full of yourself. And if you’re at the heart of Democratic Party politics, no wonder we’re in trouble. You’re not listening. Your superiority and condescension are appalling. Keep promoting your nightmare scenarios. We don’t need you. The strong will prevail without you.
comment in response to post
You have a lot invested in the demise of our country incl. a win for yourself should our judiciary fail. And if our electoral system fails. It’s like you’re rooting for the country to fail. And you still don’t grasp the point that you’re disempowering others. You might as well be a MAGA troll.
comment in response to post
He’s a lawless criminal so he’ll never be able to interpret law. There’s an entire judiciary apparatus that does & they’re already hearing 80+ cases opposing his actions. AG Bondi is a prosecutor not a judge & the DOJ is already on its knees w/ the SDNY. You’re ignorant of the facts & not helping.
comment in response to post
That’s ridiculous. POTUS has NOTHING to do w/ who gets into Congress. Put your energies toward improving this situation instead of scare-mongering. I’m not afraid of Trump. They haven’t accomplished anything yet. They’re just breaking things. Rollover at your own peril. DO NOT OBEY IN ADVANCE.

You’ve missed the point. Elections are run by states not the Fed. gov’t. We need to combat & raise awareness of voter suppression. Not disempower people w/ anxieties about stolen elections. We have work to do but we can change this. Link to Vigilante, Inc. documentary, youtu.be/P_XdtAQXnGE?...
