I wish Google would just appreciate how good they are maybe were at promoting real businesses run by real people back in a world where the monopiles of the traditional advertising "mad men" dominated marketing What they built from backrub to pre-ai organic google was special.

This brand search in the UK online gambling space has 2 traditional blue links. Not 10... not 6... 2 It's 13k pixels long and has only the brand Heart Bingo and Trustpilot as the orignal SERP links, besides other search features. 😱

Is Google punishing #seo ... fucking right they are! I had a page rank position 3 for a "nice" YMYL query, a fair rank but click through was poor because the intent was missing in the wording of the title tag I added that YMYL keyword to the title and they've slapped it back to page 3 WTF?

Someone built thousands of spammy links to a page I'm working on The page tanked for all keywords, outside of the core update & in isolation of similar pages I disavowed the domains, hundreds of them The page came back to life yesterday Maybe Google ignored the links eventually But still... FFS

@johnmu.com I don't know if this is common now, but I have lots of examples of URLs that are 301'd to other pages on the same site and have been for over 6months. Yet Google is still ranking the old original URL. Does that sound normal?

For 5+ yrs a page ranked for a nice keyword much aligned to it's content In the march update, Google dropped it & picked some random as fuck page to rank instead, but on page 2 (the search abyss) I'm a competent organic SEO, no clue why this happened @searchliaison.bsky.social who won't care #seo
