I was listening to the audiobooks a year or two ago on youtube until I got up to Lady of the Lake and the playlist switched to a different reader and I couldn't handle the jandle

Dudes looking at the sword-fighting equivalent of an oncoming train and thinking it's even a competition is one of the more realistic parts of this series

Every political editor in the country (including Malpass. Malpass!) is running basically the same line: "the process is awful, they have no justification for it, and its clearly plugging a massive hole in their budget." Don't think I've seen collective bullshit called on one issue this fast in ages.

The government will save billions through this decision. But we should be clear that this is money that has come directly out of the pockets of low-paid female workers. I didn’t think the National Party would stoop this low to pay for it’s tax cuts. www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...

I was automatically scheduled for a flight tomorrow morning and then I went and stood in a queue for at least 40 minutes and when I got to the desk I said 🥺🥺🥺 I don't have anywhere to stay tonight 🥺🥺🥺 and the lady gave me the LAST TICKET AVAILABLE TONIGHT

People make fun of me for my Airport Madness and yet it continues to be completely justified (flight was cancelled 30 minutes after it was originally scheduled to fly)

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you but with a tarrif once the tax/cost is incurred, you no one involved can get a refund. That money is a charge that the company (and you) pay to the govt to import the item, not to keep the item, if that makes sense

I don't use screen readers but screenshots of text are impossible to read on my phone (the only way I use social media) so if your screenshot of text doesn't have alt text of the text in the image it might as well not be there. If it's info you think is important to share, it needs to be in the alt

Like it's not even a size thing because you can manually go and download 400 files. They've just decided you're only allowed to do that in the most annoying way possible

For the kinds of personalities that get really into Indigo Children, reality shifting, simulation theory, and the like chatbots are uncut Colombian cocaine. It's the monkey orgasm button, and they're just hammering it; an infinite supply of material for their apophenia to absorb.

I don't want to oversell it, but I genuinely don't bother with fried chicken from anywhere else these days. I usually get the supreme sauce so definitely give that one a try sometime, but I bet all the sauces are delicious

This is actually kind of shocking to me. Making a note to never go there. If you're looking for Korean chicken I highly recommend Zzan, which has never proselyised me even once, near the embassy movie theatre.

Can confirm that the self test is as non-invasive as you can get. It's basically a Q-tip, and you don't insert it very far - maybe a cm or so? Still not exactly comfortable but not v painful in my experience
