Claude thinks the absolute minimum is 22-24 months: claude.ai/share/b09fab... . Apparently getting utilities in place (electrical/water/sewerage) is one of the more time-consuming steps. Now sure how much of an expert in Prison-building Claude is, though ...

Slightly unrelated to what you are saying: I think I prefer to be called a "citizen of nowhere" over today's "Keir Starmer claims soaring immigration has done ‘incalculable’ damage to UK, economically and politically".

I would call this "sensible" instead of "insalubrious"! Also, the value od 3.5% is much larger than I would have guessed.

I wonder whether this is less spurious than the others.

I find the "heart" button in BluSy a bit difficult: I pressed it here to say "thanks, Nicholas, for posting this". But it does look a bit like "I love it when police break into a Quaker meeting house", which is emphatically not what I want to express.

I remember the time when "emacs" was suspected to stand for "Eight Megabytes And Constantly Swapping".

Is it possible to attach text/markdown files instead of images? I tried `llm -m claude-3.7-sonnet "Please summarise this book chapter in about 200 words." -a chapter.md`, but this didn't work.

There is a typo on the event page: "For Trainers who choose the Black Version (Reshiram) badge ..." - I am pretty sure that the black version is for Zekrom and white for Reshiram. Or am I confused? @leekduck.com

I haven't checked whether the cited results really exist, or whether they contain your result, but here is the email from the angry probabilist, as requested. Do better!

While these seem to be beautiful books, which may plausibly live on bookshelves, we are still missing evidence of a BAS *scientist* appearing on a bookshelf. Can we get a photo?

Better for the students, worse for me, I think.

I got a 4-5pm tutorial today. My prediction is that 2 out of 15 students will attend.

The "lake" is definitely river water, but I'm not sure about these fountains. They came with quite a bit of pressure through the gaps around some metal covers.

Thank you. In exchange, I can offer a photo of the footpath between car park and river, taken yesterday evening. (Not sure whether this is a pipe break or some flood-related effect.)
